Only in Finland, that metal singers are not laughed at, during these Idols show. It's like a Fantasy Island, therefore I must go there one day!

The drummer is called Sami Kuoppamäki and he had already played session drums for Stratovarius and Apocalyptica so, yeah, he surely enjoyed it.

yeah, Brasil has amazing singers, but they doesn't stand a chance againts other rythms here, they has to be respected in other countries so they can be respected by ourselves. Very weird situation, like shaman, dr. sin and others.

Sad truth, the only things that are known in Brazil are those pieces of shit funks and sertanejo. Finnish people have a much more solid culture of metal, respect to all and specially to Sonata Arctica \,,/

Azul Arctica La TV es una porquería a nivel mundial, y este programa no es la excepción. Ahora si te gustan los rubios, te recomiendo ir. Un tiempo estuve en pareja con una estonia, tuve la suerte de conocer su país y son todos molestamente rubios :v

Azul Arctica Jajaja era solo una broma xD Y ánimo con ese deseo de visitar Finlandia, viajar no es tan complicado como la mayoría cree, hay que ir eliminando las excusas, como por ejemplo "si me voy, me voy mínimo 30 días" ufff si realmente te fascina el país te aseguro que 15 días son tan pocos como 30 o 60 días, y una vez que vayas vas a volver. O el echo de no querer viajar sola, otra idiotez. Vamos, hay que animarse, y sin excusas que lo único que hacen es alejarnos de nuestros sueños. El "Quiero" dejáselo al Banco Galicia y pensá en un "Voy a" ir a Finlandia :D

It really is! And Ari Koivunen was only 23 years old in this and self trained singer, never took singing lessons. I bet he would be even 200 % better if he know would sing it.

i wish i could enlight the "idols" in israel with sonata arctica's songs.... i can sing them perfectly it's just that i wont even pass the audition... not a metal population.... most ppl here like eastern music. i hate it! all of the lyrics in hebrew eastern music are as deep as a spit puddle. sonata arctica rules when it comes to great melodies combined with super great lyrics! just perfect! oh and great drummer!

Well I just got home from it and I was pretty impressed with Ari! I can see what you mean about them being pretty different but I like a lot of different kinds of metal and really enjoyed them,a nd yes, Ensiferum were brilliant. Also never realised Ari could growl!

i'd love to see someone on american idol covering a sonata song.. sad part is most of them havent even heard of sonata arctica.. also ari's album did not suck at all it was actually quite good.. instead of bashing him listen to it you may actually like it

Koivunen covers Sonata Arctica in here, which used to be a power metal band. Metal consists of a lot of subgenres which have their own distinct sound. Power metal is the opposite of the stereotypical metal. A lot of people seem to think metal has only screaming/growling vocals and is about the devil and negativity, but power metal usually has high clean vocals and they sing about goodness and fantasy stories. Because most power metal bands have a positive sound, it's easily confused with rock :p

He's currently in the band Amoral, who were formerly a melodic death metal band so it's kind of a big transition for the band, nonetheless I enjoy their music.

I am German and I like the Finnish or Sweden Version of American Idol more than the German, because there you can`t sing songs like these because the judge especially dieter bohlen wold say ,,wie don`t know this song, don`t sing this kind of songs"...but in skandinavia you could do this, thats fantastic :)

It's funny that you respond to my comment just now :D I just saw Amoral open for Ensiferum three days ago. I didn't hear a lot, but from the songs I heard I think Amoral were better before the change.. Doesn't mean I dislike Ari's singing. I just think pure power metal fits his vocals way more.

Oh you're seeing them today. Won't need any explaining then :p Hope you have had fun! The supports weren't bad, but I couldn't completely get into the music. I think folk supports would have been better because the supports were so different in music :p Ensiferum was great as always :D But yeah, I don't know why but I find Ari more convincing in this video than when I saw Amoral live.

I don't think it's possible in the Cz.Republic."Not interesting,nobody knows it".One girl wanted to sing Mr.Big in "My Idols" but then she was singing a song by Pink.I doubt her idol is Pink,I know her music taste.Somebody was talking how the things are and it's not so fair as it seems to be.He appeared in Idols ,was really good but Pink floyd?No chance.His individuality wasn't "supported" especially by the management.(Btw,that girl was 2nd because she knows what people want)
