It is! It’s been hard for me to wear my natural hair out but I’ve started to really love it this summer after getting so many compliments on my Afros and twist outs. It was hard at first because type 4 hair isn’t glamorized in the media at all. The pretty black girls on social media, music videos, movies, etc are always light with wigs or very loose curls like Zendaya. It’s nice seeing a girl who looks more like me being the “pretty girl” for a change

I'm from Germany, have rarely seen black women idealised in the media or ad campaigns growing up and still completely fell in love with natural hair and curls later.
