changing it all to “I” instead of “you” (example “I get high and call on the regular”) really makes it feel like...current, if that makes ANY sense lol. Because Mac is gone and it’s just her now in the song. In the original upbeat one, he was alive and still involved ie “calling on the regular” but now that he’s gone, it’s just her, in this version. She’s calling, she’s pretending she’s fine, but ends up coming back to loving him even though it’s impossible for them to be together anymore. I’ve heard that she has called Mac’s phone over 100 times just to hear his voicemail (not sure if true.) so that makes it 10x sadder. I feel the utmost respect for her and what she’s gone through. I pray for her pure happiness. She deserves it.

i've always said that the lyrics to 'everytime' are insanely beautiful and meaningful. this just shows that a sad rendition of an upbeat song of hers can be so depressing and deep. she's been through so much heavy shit. it amazes me how she's still able to stand up and face everything. the strongest person i know. but with everything that happened at the antwerp concert last night, and her sending out that email that for a while she's been very depressed and her anxiety has been on the high end of the scale... i just hope she doesn't run herself to the the ground. i feel like at this point she's always putting on a facade to mask it all and to be there for us... when we should be there for her. these sad versions of songs remind me of how hard life has been on her for the past couple of years, and especially these past months. i've been noticing it for a while now and mentioning how i think tour wasn't the best idea and how it hasn't made her the happiest and people told me i was exaggerating. well look at it now. i wish her so much love and happiness. i just want her to be okay again.
