I have always had the feeling (regardless of this sad version of pov), that ariana's melodies unfold in a melancholic environment and with a background, I feel that behind those angelic sounds so typical in her songs, there is too much story full of a elegant sadness

This is how you know a celeb is in a bad position, they literally write songs about how they are feeling and what their going through , and when someone like moonlight takes the song and slows it down and really brings the deep meaning out of the song is when it’s truly beautiful, just wow , amazing

If you guys didn't know this song is about a man named Mac Miller a rapper Ari used to date. Ariana adored this man since she met him and they have been inseparable since. Even after their break up they continued to support each other Ari loved him before during and after the relationship and when he died she went into a pretty dark state had plenty of public break downs and it didnt help she was getting accused of his death and being threatened in the process. Her whole positions album is her trying to move on from the bombing in Manchester, death of her soul mate, broken engagement, and continuing her relationship with Dalton

I interpret this version as someone who has horrible anxiety and no self-esteem and can't understand why someone can see so much good in them and love them, but just can't bring themselves to accept the person because they don't think they are worthy enough for the person. They wish they could see themselves like that someone so they can believe they are enough and let themselves be with that person
