Ariana Grande has been a huge fan of the musical since she was a kid, making one of her biggest wishes in her career to play the Good Witch of The East, Glinda.

Not a fan of her but she is the only person at this moment who deserves to play Glinda. She adores the character wich is one of the most important things an actress/actor needs to play a part in my opinion. Her reaction shows just how much she adores Glinda's character and she deserved this 100%. Im very happy for her.

Shes literally the person who most deserves to play Glinda. It’s not always about the acting background you have (even tho she literally did broadway and apparitions on many series/ movies etc ) it’s about how much you invest in your role and how much you love your character. It’s also about how the directors decide to create it but Ariana surely did work really hard and with passion on this

When she said: "Im going to take such good care of her", that is the kind of thing that's a promising sign. Iconic characters like Glinda are more of a role you "step into", acknowledging the groundwork laid by previous actors while adding a bit of your own flavor to it. :)

i’ve never been a huge ariana grande fan but after seeing the trailer i’ve really grown to like her and I think she’s gonna be so good in this role. her acting was just incredible and fit the character so well ❤

She's the best choice for the role, she has the vibe, the vocals and the looks for this role. I'm not even a fan of hers and I don't understand how anybody could say otherwise. @@iamthesenate8825 I know, I grew up with the musicals of "Wicked" and "The Wizard of Oz" as I was a leading theater kid. I was always fond of the latter though and now that I've seen Grande taking up Glinda with that awful nose contour, non-existent eyebrows and the horrendous clashing tan skin-blonde hair combo, I lost any Luft that I have to see it. Bonus, she has no acting skills to back it up as well. That movie will be the disaster of the year.

I will admit that my top choice to play Glinda was Dove Cameron who did indeed audition for the role and Kristin Chenoweth did say she wanted her to play Glinda. However, I am indeed interested in seeing Ariana's portrayal.

Well, Kristin actually wanted either Dove or Ariana. I know Kristin and Ariana have a well-documented close bond to the point that Ariana even brought Kristin on as a guest judge when she hosted the voice.
