If our Official Live Performances of “pov” and “safety net” reveal anything, it’s that Ariana Grande excels at her job because she’s so passionate about the results. You don’t hit the high notes, you don’t exude candor, and you don’t make pop music as moving as she does without crossing the T’s and dotting the I’s. A very cool Cali session with the look and feel of a cozy little meadow was a perfect place to turn some of the best tunes on ‘Positions’ into utterly memorable performances. Go Team Ari. In a typically inventive move, our hero chose to loop her vocals when it came time to perform the album’s title track. Watch her augment the band’s moves with a little layering of her voice. As she references both the kitchen and the bedroom in her lyrics, the sound stacks up, taking on its own internal rhythm. Beautiful.

As someone who used to have that exact same looper pedal(Boss RC-505 Mk2) this is insanely impressive for a pop artist today. I’m OBSESSED with the track under her, too!! I keep coming back because I love the song, but the live version has this super chill feeling because of the quiet, sparse vocals in the chorus, and of course the fantastic live accompaniment. It’s a totally different vibe and I love it so much 😩❤️

This is why she deserves all the recognition...she knows what she’s doing, she’s not just a singer/vocalist, she’s an artist! She’s singing different notes (harmonies) and combining them to make one beautiful sound that she wants to achieve (like a musician does with instruments) ON THE SPOT. That’s art, when a person has a picture in their mind, and they’re able to bring it to life, and Ariana is a master of her craft. You might not like her but you can’t deny the fact that she’s insanely talented and uses all of her skills to make the best performances.
