Great video! I love how your videos are real world, just a dude using an ebike for transportation to get to work just like the rest of us. They're never going to give you a free bike (they just don't do that), but the Juiced Bikes HyperScorpion is the bike to get in this step-thru, moped form factor. I hate moped style ebikes that have spoke wheels. I know even some heavy motorcycles have spokes, but it just seems to overly fragile to me. It also seems like I'm always reading about loose, bent, and/or broken spokes on all the ebike forums. Bikes require enough maintenance without having to worry about spokes.The HyperScorpion has cast alloy wheels (no spokes). Honestly, I wouldn't have even ridden that thing with the spokes like that, especially with a whole section bent. Free or not, I would've told Ariel to send me another bike -- not just a replacement wheel, especially a rear wheel, that I would've had to take off and put on. Things happen in shipping, but just sending out a replacement wheel on a $2200 ebike just isn't going to cut it.

I like your videos. I also have the Ariel Rider X 52 class in the nonstop through model. It’s also red. Mine was delivered with a non-damage box and without any issues. My friend has the same thing in black. They’re both are flawless. No noise, everything is working properly. I’m sure the amount that are being sold. There will be a few with issues. I can definitely say I can hear yours on the video it definitely has a problem. Ariel Ryder is known for building quality e-bikes. In my opinion I Believe the damage occurred doing shipping. It’s a great bike!

Those spokes are bending from the motor torque. Thats not a impact issue. The spokes need to be thicker and tighter. That's a catastrophic accident waiting to happen. Ariel need to make a full recall. I was seriously looking into buying this good looking bike at the current $1600 but not now. Don't ride it anymore

I don't know if Ariel got a bad batch of rear hubs or what, but mine came with loose spokes and one of the nuts was not even finger tight. I'm glad I didn't let my excitement take over and ride it before I checked all the bolts. That wheel would have come off for sure. Now that I've had it a while and worked out all the kinks, I really like it.

Upgrading from an Lectric XP step thru 1.0 500W motor no shocks had it from Sept 2020 to April 2023. To this has been amazing. Got a custom seat and a new display to read the voltage. Needed something lighter weight where I can carry up the stairs. So Revv1 and most other 80+ pounds bikes were out of the question lol

@MrCentralDriver my manager, had an accident in his car a couple of months ago hurt his back. He has an RCR that he was willing to give me a good deal on it, but I already had this bike, and 125+ pounds without battery wasn't happening going up the stairs, lol. If only I lived on the bottom floor. He's the one who told me about the RCR, and I found your channel. Didn't know they made these faster ebikes. Thought 28mph was the fastest, lol. Now I'm looking to get a helmet now. I never had one before

You should try the 60 volt Wired Freedom. Outperforms the x class and Revv 1 in every way and is only $2000. Best of all, depending on your personal tastes, it looks and rides like a normal full suspension mountain bike and you won’t get pulled over by the cops. Competition is moving quickly and this bike is now a bit obsolete. Of course, if you are small, you might prefer the little 20x4 tires. The 26x4 tires are sooo much better imho, that you must try them first and see if you fit.

I have the opposite problem, 90% of 20 inch bikes are way too small for me. The ape hangers on the grizzly actually make it manageable if you're over 6 ft. I'm more or less stuck with 26 inch bikes.

So a bummer with the spokes. You change the tires and have AR send you a package of rear left and right side spokes.. Remove the half dozen or so spokes bent and replace them. Not a fun thing but doable .👍

I was super excited, I sold my Lectric 3.0 to buy a 52v step thru. The motor doesn't work straight out of the box, I've contacted Ariel and they are very slow to help me, no personalized phone calls allowed, just one slow email a day if I'm lucky. Now I'm without a vehicle and having a nightmare experience being stuck with a dead bike and feel like I'm getting ripped off.

@@Grantalonus no, its been 2 months since I've purchased the bike and the company is so slow to help me. I will probably have to refute with my credit card. I made it abundantly clear how crucial it was for this to be fixed asap as it's my only tool for getting to my job. They DONT CARE! it's the most frustrating thing I've dealt with. No way to call, it's helpless.

For some reason the controller was defected and it took me sending back 2 other parts and painstakingly taking off and installing parts with no avail. Was out of transportation for 3 months in NyC, I don't take the subway.

i would put it just above this bike. But not above the revv1 unless you want straight speed its fantastic at that. Its right under the lyric graffiti ebike for me because it gives high top speed, light weight, good sitting position. Just doesnt have a cool look to it in stock form compared to other bikes.

i've done a few accessories videos but its been probably a year since my last one. I will try to do one again soon! shoei or agv helmets are nice. full face helmets are a must unless you ride under 20mph most of the time a half helmet is cool but those are the main helmet brand i like.

ugh. I'm still so stuck on this vs Revv1 lol. I like the more subtle looks of this one though, as it looks not too much different than my Radrunner. I feel like I would get way to many looks riding the Revv1 down sidewalks in the middle of town, etc.

Had mine for 2 years and a few spokes were a lil loose. Tighten with a a $3.00 spoke wrench . No problem since.

AR packs these bikes with separate little accessories boxes in the main inner box. I'm thinking the bent spokes happen when these smaller boxes shift around and wedge themselves between the side of the tire and the inside of the box.

Thanks for the video. Could anyone with this bike let me know what the actual tire diameter is? I know it’s listed as 20x4 but I’ve read some things that say a 20x4 tire might actually be closer to 24” tall. Thank you!

I've seen your question on several video's and thought I might help you with an answer. Call your local E-bike store that sells a bike that has 20'' rims, (20''x4'' tire) have them measure the height from the rim of wheel to top of tire times that measurement by two then add 20 for wheel, that will give you the total height. The sidewall height of the tire will be very close to the same on all tires unless it has a real aggressive tread pattern.

😎 Great look around this X Class.. The Kepler is big.. But in my bike riding crew it blends in size wise with the other E Bikes of the same style. Some of the other bikes do have better step through heights.. Some may have a tad lower seat heights available .. For the most part no much weight difference. Just the 36V models without the fat tires in our group look smaller. And the Lectric folding ones. 👍

You missed the fact that with them handgrips it would be hard to put side mirrors on. The light is bright enough if you can see a tent or a body sleeping in the middle of the path😁

i explained it in the video that its the rear spokes, some loose and some are bent.

A bit late to the party here, But would you say the Revv 1 is still worth getting over the x52 for $600 more? On the fence between the two, With my budget its either the x52 with $600 extra to spend on upgrades or a stock Revv 1 fs.

The x52 is faster but feels cheaper and the components are cheaper. The revv1 is more solid. Better for storage and extra batteries and feels built better and more comfortable. I like the revv1

My Step-Thru has had this noise for a while now (500 miles) and it is great to know what it is. I got a spoke tool and got the noise to go away, but it would be nice to know what the specs should be for the front and rear wheels.

It was for sure. I took it to a local bike shop and they trued and tightened both wheels for $20, a great deal, and no more noise. He chalked it up to quick assembly at the factory.

Yes, the spokes were loose. I took it to a local shop and had the wheels tuned for $10 each, a real deal. Now no more noise and a quieter ride. The tech guy said, "probably a quick assembly".@@Grantalonus

I took the wheels only. Get a bag of black zip ties and some loctite and the job is pretty easy. I loosen my rear view mirrors, spin them around the turn the bike over. It is pretty easy with the weight of the battery out of the bike. I did have to realign my fromt brake caliper for some reason afterwards. I think it must not have been very straight before. @@Grantalonus

Ebike riders only follow traffic laws when they are beneficial to their direction of travel. If it's going to require applying brakes or waiting for someone else they all the sudden don't apply to basic rules. I find this to be the case.

@@johnt3ducati all my spokes on my x class were loose when I got them and I didn’t tighten correctly and mine got bent they absolutely can come bent if spokes aren’t tightened down correctly.

G force zm maxed out can go 37 mph with the 40ah version if want to get that bike and review it on your channel you might like that bike it’s up to you if you want to get it or not
