I cannot thank you enough for the video and the service manual! I have a new Platinum 24 Great Lakes Edition and was looking for the service manual to figure out how to get at the EFI battery in the future when it fails and how to service/troubleshoot the snowblower in the future.

Thanks for posting this. I'm pretty good with carbureted versions. Haven't run into an EFI yet. This helps a bunch on trouble shooting! AND thanks for the link to the service manual too

My friend has one of these EFI snow blowers he bought it a few years ago I was still learning the basics of carbureted small engines and really wasn't aware fuel injected small engines were a thing at the time. Now he is having some trouble with it. I really wouldn't have been able to tell him to avoid it if he had asked me back then. It's probably better to take the time to learn how maintain carbureted engine properly.

These have a issue with the speed sensor they go bad they don’t provide the correct amount of voltage so the ecu doesn’t know how much fuel to inject causing either the pumps to go bad or the fuel Injector module.. I watched a video on it. I’m not a mechanic by any means but these speed sensors are connected to the round dial on your panel I don’t have a EFI so I don’t know what it is but it connects under the panel to It I guess the dial’s can come loose causing water to corrode them so i would start by making sure it’s tight or possibly putting some sealant on it a silicone spray to keep it water tight that may help good luck…

Makes one want to stay away from EFI snow blowers. If out of warranty and you can't fix it yourself, it would no doubt be costly.

Hi there… Got a Noreaster goin on And my snow blower died on me. Its a Ariens 30 efi model… 5 yr old. The snowblower starts and runs but it’s chugging… after 30 minutes … it died. Waited 5 min… it started but died within few minutes…. Any leads as to what it could be? The engine definitely isn’t running smooth…. It feels like it either looking for gas ot may be flooded with gas….TIA

I heard somewhere this pump is really meant to run on 12v and sometimes giving it a boost of 12volts will bring them back to life for a season

I can't believe it has that outdated Tamiya plug on the battery connection.

Mine looks to be the same exact model. It surges high rev and low, with out turning the dial. And with the dial all the way up to full throttle. Good gas, good pump and is 2 years old. Any ideas?

Have you seen this issue a lot with the new Ariens EFI motors? I just ordered one…. Hope not. Seems like Ariens could build a EFI motor

7.4 volt battery, same used for rc cars. Can be upgraded very easy at any local rc shop.
