This version makes me think of when the main character gets injured in a movie and he's on the floor slowly bleeding out while thinking about his life up until this point. His lover rushes to his side as they try to apply pressure on their wound and telling them "I can't lose you now, I love you so much". All the main character says is "I've loved you since the beginning" before closing his eyes and his heartbeat slowly starts to fade as memories begin to flash in his mind; he remembers the first day he met his lover, their first date, the day they got married, etc. "Come back to me" are the words that echo through his mind as he slowly begins to wake up, covers his wound, and stands himself up. He musters up all the courage within his body and continues to fight the antagonist while his lover cheers him on as they duel.
