Comedian Aries Spears elaborated on some extreme cases of heckling he has faced during his shows. Notable incidents include a woman throwing a plastic ketchup bottle at him in Connecticut, a drunk woman attempting to throw a beer pitcher at him in Canada, and a man getting aggressive because of a joke about his girlfriend in South Carolina. The incident where a woman threw a ketchup bottle at him caused his face to swell. The woman was called out of the crowd by the comedian for not enjoying the show. Spears narrated another dramatic situation where a man armed with a knife waited for him after a show, intending to attack. Fortunately, an onlooker spotted the man, phoned the police, and the potential assailant was arrested. The comic insists that if you’re not instigating a reaction from the audience, you’re not doing comedy right.
