Most commercial Indian movie songs are not supposed to be stand alone songs (there are exceptions and in the past were quite often randomly placed into movies). They are supposed to contribute to the story or move the story forward so quite often the actors will be emoting based on the situation that song is supposed to depict. I haven't watched this movie but my experience of Indian movies says that Aishwarya is probably emoting as per what's required of her character in this situation.

I saw the making of this movie. Rajnikanth had to be as each person in different angle in the green screen. Then Shankar collaborated every thing into each part/take. Not sure if you understand what I'm trying to say. 🤔
