Who wins the difficulty so far?
This is me trying to figure out how much a routine could worth if it was executed perfectly.

First of all thank you for the videos from @rgvid.eu and @Estonia RG AGG! Obviously, after this video you can realise why I have difficulty to understand some scores at GP Tartu. It was a very nice competition for sure, however some scores really surprised me. And when I say ''some scores'' it is not targeted towards Russians (you would be surprised) or Arina Averina in particular, it's just because I don't have the time to observe every scores. I am open to critics and will gladly received corrections, so let's comment on Arina Averina Difficulty! Just for the record Hoop 15.2 (5.1 10.1) Ball 15.8 (5.2 10.6) Clubs 15.7 (5.1 10.6) Ribbon 13.3 (5.2 8.1)

6:10 is probably without visual control + in rotation. But the rotation is done too late... It's not only Arina who does this AD this way, a lot of other girls also do it. I just don't understand why judges count it

the 16.8 and 17 clubs difficulty score realy surprised me... let's see if other competitions and Olympics will reward the same score....

They wil never have the same score because before there were a limit (i'm not sure of this word i'm italian) of difficulties that they could do and also if i love gimnasts like Kudryavtseva or Mamun i think that for some aspects they aren't as good as Averina sisters

great video as usual. I also had an extremely hard timing trying to figure out how the hell she got 17 on difficult. No surprises to see Russians once again getting up to 2 full points above what the routine really has.

Mmmmm, in AA Arina took reasonable D according to your analysis in hoop and ball (15.4) whereas in clubs and ribbon something is missing (17 and 14.2 respectively). But I sincerely agree with the video, so I don't know where to technically find the remaining points...😶 P.S. I'm not an expert, this is just a personal impression!

Well, what Clematis is showing is only theoretical difficulty. As she thoughtfully indicated in the video, there are a lot of elements in all of Arina's routines that are disputable at best. So, even though the AA scores might have been closer to the theoretical scores, they are still way ahead to what she actually executed... This was such just the usual farce that all of us are getting tired of at this point.

@@MsInsanelove Hoop AA and Ball AA indeed are closest to reality. The rest however, seems pretty non realistic.

I am still guessing if she's going to put the triple Kostina before she catch the ribbon at 6:07 and if she's not doing it to prevent injuries, I really like that element because it's like one of those elements that just some gymnast can do. I only remember Besso and Kanaeva and Kanaeva never put it in big competitions

I didn't think about that! Maybe... I doubt it, because I never saw her performed it or trained it even before 2013, but that doesn't mean anything. She probably avoiding to perform a lot of jumps in her routines (she has less than last year in September) before the OG to prevent foot injuries, yes.

0:43 maybe some judges count this but i'm so skeptical... it's so easy (where else can the hoop go? there's no chance of failure) and she uses her hand to perform the pass through so it's not 1 coherent movement with the transmission. but we all know ppl will count anything to get a high difficulty nowadays 2:10 i think is not rethrow, just medium throw AD (the rotation is not repeated elsewhere) 2:54 i thought there were 2 bases catch from large throw + rebound, so only 1 criteria is needed 4:26 i suspected this was two 0.3 AD + two 0.4 AD layered on top of each other, and i'm excited to see u judged it the same way! 5:51 probably roll in rotation + sight. she definitely doesn't perform the rotation in time so it's not valid (and it's easy), but she tries to turn her body while the stick is still halfway down which makes the roll more precarious (dina does it cleaner) 6:55 according to the fig newsletter, this is not a valid 0.3 boomerang if she just pulls the ribbon back in preparation for another throw (i think she has to "boomerang" it back and catch it somehow). it's probably just 0.2 AD thanks for making this video!! these must be a lot of effort so i'm glad u r doing them so i never have to do the math myself 😂

0:43 I'm very skeptical too but it fits (argh you got it) the results more, and not only for Russians 2:10 the rotation is actually repeated here 3:17 that's why I was forced to count it as a re-throw...but what a ''re-throw''. 2:54 oh yes, but I just wanted to put the maximum criterion I can see. But yes the AD in itself is okay (I'll try to be clearer on next videos!) 4:26 ahah yes! Maximising the use of time! 5:51 I always though that, but ...argh if she could just throw that stick and catch it in roll, that would be easier for me 6:55 Yes you guess it right, this isn't even valid for a 0.2. There are even clear videos from the new TC, I'm just waiting for the first 2020 newsletter before doing a video on the few clarifications of 2020. 😂 Glad I'm helpful to others than myself in those Difficulty reports!

Questions: Why no oblique criteria at 1:07? Can't 3:37 be counted as 2 x 0.2 ADs for the catch and throw? Thanks in advance.

@Sara Hoffmann I’m no expert, so I’ll try to explain my point of view 🤞. The throw at 1:07 - we see it at a weird angle. She looks like she’s throwing oblique (barely) but when she catches it, the hoop looks vertical. And at 3:37, no, the base is rebound, there can only be one ad 2. If it were a medium throw, than yes

6:36 if I am notwrong it is supposed to be a 0.2 AD (poorly done I agree) included in the dances steps instead of that 0.3 AD at 6:42 as the second criteria is "during BD" and an AD and a BD can't be included in a dances step 😅

Are you planning on doing an update on Arina's hoop and ball difficulties, as well as Dina's hoop and ribbon difficulties? I am actually really interested to see whether they are more difficult now and if yes by how much? Especially with Dina having to drop many elements requiring back flexibility.

I have a question: if her max D with the clubs is 15.7 how did she get like 25.90 at GP Valentine? The judges gave her 10.2 in execution?😂

I made an experiment and showed the clip without the music to a friend (professional dancer) and asked her to adjust the music to the routines she saw. She could not even point the Paso Doble to the correct routine, she said it doesn't make sense.

@@ClematisRGVideos how can you do edit of something which is not there. If we compare Maria Petrova performing on spanish music there is no difficulty but 100% character and charisma. Nowdays only Charkashina and Angelova try to show character, for the other gymnasts music is just background noise .

@@dododimitrov9657 True. I was thinking about an edit with not only cutting, but changing some elements. Also, I wouldn't say her ball music is 100% Spanish. The music is the instrumental part of a sort of "latin disco flamenco" remix of Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood appearing in Kill Bill during a katana duel (so many reference are possible here!). But still, we stand on the same point I think: the character should be present.

Oh don't worry about not understanding English vocabulary. "Valid" here means the element is performed correctly enough to be counted in the Difficulty in competition. While doing this video, I wanted to show the theoretical difficulty, but also show which elements are actually correctly performed or not (thus the blue/orange code). (I wish I could do the video in more language!)
