He is a smart guy but he needs to change his tact. The political elites aren’t the only problem in Nigeria, the mindset of Nigerians is a major problem. The political elites have successfully managed to make the default settings of the Nigerian mindset to favour those with criminal intent & that’s why you’ll have a person like Tinubu being the president of Nigeria. Sowore needs to change tactics and make Nigerians see him not just as a political activist or a freedom fighter but a tactful politician and one that can change even the likes of Tinubu to become law abiding citizens. He alienates every other politician and put them in one basket of deplorable, making it difficult to work with any of them. You cannot click your fingers and all these deplorable people disappear, look for the not so rotten ones and try and work with them. These people have etched themselves into the every fabric of the Nigerian society, so you have to work from the inside, to undo the mess. We have seen what Ibrahim Traoré is doing in Burkina Faso. Psychologically changing the mindset of the Burkinabe, while working with some of the political elites and it’s gradually changing not only the citizens but some of the criminal politicians. We have people like PLO Lumumba, Dr Arikana, Bishop MH Kukah etc, who's been preaching to Africans about this issue but no change. You have to be in power, for these change to take effect as we are experiencing in Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger. The best person to change Nigeria is an already elected president and that's why Sowore needs to change his tactics in order to get elected, then he can start changing things from the inside. It is what Paul Kagame did in Rwanda. Ibrahim Traore said Africa's biggest adversary in is in our heads, we defeat that and we are unbeatable.

He should have started by seeking a gubernatorial seat. Becoming a governor first to showcase his leadership skills would've been wonderful before seeking to be president. Another mistake he made was to attack H.E. Peter Obi out of envy. I expected Sowore to join PO, who's an incorruptible man of integrity, a great leader with a clean record, and who's a stronger political heavyweight, and is loved more by Nigerians. But Sowore blew it and started attacking and insulting him.

He possesses the freedom to criticize Obi, just as anyone has the freedom to offer constructive criticism. When does criticizing Obi become a criminal offense? All he stated was that Obi is a part of the political system that has failed miserably, and that statement holds true. Obi's reputation as a saint only emerged recently, and those who criticize him often face insults from his supporters. Sowore is a goal.

We all know what PO can do because he was a governor. On the other hand, we don't know how Sowore will handle power because he has NEVER been in the corridors of power. The highest he has attained was as SUG president. So sane people will naturally go for a tested, clean leader like PO. Whoever advised Sowore to seek the presidential seat did him wrong. In the 2019 presidential election, he received around 33k votes. In 2023, he received a mere 14k votes. He's not doing well at the polls; he's going downhill instead of improving.

@etinlawrence I don't like arguing with people who twist stuff to fit their narrative. I never said nobody should criticise PO. In fact, PO encourages people, including those around him, to criticise him when he does something wrong, and he always says he's not perfect. He's unlike others who arrest those who criticise them. Criticism is great when it's constructive and genuine, just as he does to the Tinubu's administration. The type of criticism I hate is when it's filled with lies. Attacking someone with lies is NOT a genuine criticism.
