Ojude Oba, an ancient festival celebrated on the third day of Eid-ul-Adha, in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, South-West Nigeria was at long last held after a two-year hiatus. The 2020 and 2021 editions of the Ojude Oba festivals were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2022 edition was the first to hold since then and has been the cause of much excitement for the reunion of people and culture at this beloved festival. But as Arise International Correspondent, Adefemi Akinsanya reports, there have been fears the relevance of the gathering may dwindle with future generations of Ijebu people over time, as the worsening infrastructure of the town continues.

Shameful.....see roads!!! I studied in this state 22years ago, the roads are still like these and they are spending millions of on Carnival!! Even before it got to this point of seeing these roads, I was going to ask one of my ijebu friends that attend these carnival if these rich people in the dynasty use this opportunity of the carnival to give Scholarships to some students from less privileged backgrounds to study abroad? I watched how a community that have similar carnivals every year sponsor some of their students to pursue their career abroad via scholarship. So, if the roads are still like these and they are blamin g the state n local govt, so, let's just forget scholarships I mentioned .. The rich getting richer, the poorer getting poorer

The ijebu ode son's and daughters must be ashamed of the village with the hugh amount of the children with bless with wealth. A sound disgrace with kovid horses.
