I feel like playing Arishem will essentially be voluntarily sacrificing win potential for fun factor. So having said that, I think even considering counters to begin with is a waste of time; you're probably gonna lose anyway. Ramp doesn't really matter when you have a handful of random cards with zero synergy and playing against a well tuned deck with a tangible strategy. I predict the hype for Arishem will die after a week, and it'll be a very, very rare find on the ladder in the future, if not completely absent. I think it's incredibly over hyped.

To be fair, I've seen few people saying it's competitively good, the actual hype I've been seeing is from agents of chaos.

The thing is these cards are going to be above rate so most cards go from meh cards to good ones. Not to mention it's a good mockingbird deck, the best blob deck, able to run a ton of big guys, wave, and some tech cards, and even M'Baku. Also you can Loki into some of the bad matchups as well.

I think you underestimate the power of fun. Also, a card like this, while it is a gamble, rewards your knowledge of the game and ability to improvise.

Honestly, it’s expensive but I’d say other key cards for an Arishem deck are Sersi, Phastos, & finally we might see Adam Warlock finally being able to shine. Yes, it seems “cliche”, but if you’re able to draw Phastos on T2 or even T3, he can output a MASSIVE amount of support throughout your deck. And with the amount of RNG you’re already dealing with, Sersi can help if you’re hit with a few “dud” cards to (hopefully) turn them into better ones. And Adam Warlock fits great because of his ability to draw more cards. And with the extra energy and ramp potential, getting him out on T4 could have some really good board flipping potential.

Enchantress is a must in a Arishem deck. Gotta hunt them damn hawks. Only problem is draw support with a 24 card deck in a 6 turn game

They should buff arishem power, or else he will be downgrading 6 cost cards when played with blink or sersi, i think there is no reason to a card normally non playable to have just 7 power, this doesnt seem necessary to his balance

agreed he could easily be like a 7/14 and he'd still be a pretty bad turn 6 play for an arishem deck

Looking forward to this one, really hope it lives up to the hype - just look at those decks! Have you even seen a deck in the last couple of months that didn't have at least 2 or 3 of the new meta cards? Arishem could work without needing whale support and all for it!

So here's an interesting question what would happen if arishem shuffled other at the start of the game effects into the deck would it trigger those effects to place more stones in the deck would cards like Agatha or quick silver still start in the hand or the more insane possibility of tripling our deck with another arishem

I’m so excited for Arishem, had a deck built since OG datamine! Uatu is in my deck, M’Baku isn’t but he was on my shortlist!! He’s a complete new way of deck building, I have almost 0 combos, 0 cards with a specific plan on specific turn cause the odds of things like that are so small! He’s gonna be my main play for a while!

I don't have any, but for me the best part about Arishen is that (almost) all the Eternals work really well with him. Mainly Phastos (turn 2) and Sersi. Makkari looks good and Thena looks a little less good. This is the first time i've saved 4 keys for a card.

Stopped playing for 2 months then this month very little so should I even bother trying for arisham if im missing mockingbird, red hulk, sasquatch, and phastos? What can I even replace in those respective decks if I do?

You'll be fine without them, don't worry. A very competent Arishem deck could simply be some card generation (Coulson, Fury) a load of 6 cost cards, and some tech like Shang, Enchantress, Shadow King.

@@rezsnapper lmao good ole snap refused to give me the card anyway. I came in with 2 keys 50/50 chance still didn’t matter with this rigged game.. in fact it’s been a loooong time since i got any new cards without spending 3-4 keys..

I think Phastos will be alright in Arishem, however, as we've seen, he needs to be played on turn 3 to get enough benefit from him. That means you'll draw him by turn 3 in approximately 1 in 10 games (it's something like that I think). I'd say definitely don't buy Phastos just for Arishem.

0:30. The awesome things you can do with the card; bitch and moan about always drawing bad cards that never helps you. There fixed it for him. How is it anyone thinks this card is going to be useful or fun? I have never seen anyone happy when District x(replace both players decks with 10 random cards) or Triskellion(fill your hand with random cards) appears as a location.
