I started watching your videos out of self interest. Now, four years later, I’m watching them to help me with my first year studying Philosophy at uni. Your videos, and a few other professors, sparked my interest in something I didn’t even know existed five years ago. You have changed my life. Your impact is felt throughout my world. I cannot thank you enough.

Dear Professor Thorsby, thank you so much for putting this video lecture out there. As a self-learner, this is tremendously helpful. I had trouble understanding 2 different translations (J.A.K. Thomson and Sachs). And now I'm taking my time with each chapter. I'm grateful that you explain each chapter, because then I can pause the video and read the corresponding text. P.S. love the long form. Most explanations on KZfaq glosses over much details.

I like the idea of speaking from a place of tragedy, Huston TX. It makes abstract topics like ethics more concrete and literally down to earth, and Arstitean (as opposed to being Platonic) inhering in objects.

Excuse me sir, I didn't get the name of the author of the book on the loss of the honour culture in the modern world. Would you write it here for me? Thanks so much
@markthorsby28756 жыл бұрын
Yes, the author is Kwame Apiah
@markchannel99626 жыл бұрын
Mark Thorsby forgive me but the bibliography of the professor is quite long. Is "the honour code" the book? Because at first glance it doesn't seem relevant 😅. Thank you so much!

How to be happy in an uncertain world? Uncertainty-shit happens. Don't take it personally. It is how you respond to shit-uncertainty that counts.
