Arizona AG issues legal opinion on abortion

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes will issue a legal opinion on Thursday on abortions in the state.
During the recent session, the Arizona Legislature repealed the near-total ban that had been put into effect by the state Supreme Court earlier this year.
A group of Democrats asked Mayes whether the 15-week ban allows for pregnancy to be terminated after that period if it is a case of a medical emergency.
In a letter to Mayes, lawmakers said that the 2022 law doesn't define what that means, saying they want clarification so that doctors and patients don't need to question the risk of performing an emergency abortion.

Abortion really isn't that controversial in America, among the citizens anyway. The majority of people want safe, legal abortion. Look at the polls. It's only used by the Republicans to rile up their more extreme voters

Any AG who leads with the term “extreme…” has already told you everything you need to know. This AG is completely about politics and almost certainly is willing to sacrifice and abuse law and justice for political ends. Her attitude makes it perfectly clear that regardless her position or anyone’s opinion of it, she’s committed to use of the justice system as a political weapon without any regard for anything else.
