I will check this periodically for questions, and answer if I can. I appreciate you watching and globetrotters for the opportunity to teach what I love.

Joshua your thoughts on the shallow guillotine set up? The one you show seems to be deep in the crook of the elbow (please correct me if I'm seeing this wrong), I've seen others do it where the neck is in the crook of the wrist.

@@adolfoforonda3363 I rarely go for (or can get) the neck deep in the crook for multiple reasons. When you say shallow guillotine, do you mean off a chinstrap (gooseneck) grip? I'll assume this for the answer. The principles I lay out stay the same, the margin for error get smaller for the other parts the less "meat" you get under the chin (at the correct angle). If you're strangling with the fingers or wrist you must extra break down posture as an example. The reward for a chinstrap grip is it is much easier and quicker to enter. I hope this helps. It is tough to write this kind of thing out so if I didn't answer don't be afraid to say so :)

Excellent instruction. I never really tried guillotines, however, I had one handed to me a couple of days ago and I kind of lucked into a couple of steps/techniques you mentioned and it was the easiest tap I've ever received. It was nearly effortless other than body position and connection - thanks for putting into words what I sort of lucked into!

@@FSMWorshiper I love reading these types of comments. A well applied submission, imo, should always feel effortless. The fact that you were able to apply some of the techniques from just watching this video is a huge kudos to you. Thanks for the kind words!

Thank you…I find your explanation of dropping your body instead of raising the arm for a more effective compression simply mind blowing detail. Thank you 🙏

great and easy to understand explanation of choke mechanics, today my instructor and I worked your last low torso guillotine choke mechanics and figured out how to use the same mechanics from top side control and top half guard. Thanks for posting.

Setting up from side or half are probably my favorite ways in! There are some really cool ways to finish from there with these same principles. Thanks for sharing.

Why do you think it's so widely taught as a stretch rather than compression. Makes so much more sense as blocking the wind pipe as I was taught means they can stay concious as long as the could hold their breath (pain aside) Cheers. Can't wait to try! Ps. How would you apply compression in a mounted guillotine?
