Arizona CycleKart Club at Outlaws Cave Creek Racing

The Arizona Cycle Kart Club meets up at Outlaws in Cave Creek to do some dirt flat track racing. This is a small track but it is challenging with the rough corners and thin straights. The top speed was slow but it felt much faster racing open wheel to open wheel on such a small oval.

Great video Jon. It is a short track...but is a very fun track. The sensation of speed and sliding through the corners......awesome!

I was shocked to see the top speed I was going was only 24 MPH. It felt so much faster and the corners where tight. We have to go back soon.

Cyclekarts have been around for many years they are just now getting alot of coverage partly due to videos like this and the Arizona CycleKart Club.

Are there any "unlimited" classes? I think a 125cc 3 speed w/r from a cheap quadbike would be great for one of these!

Those engines need to be turning about 3 times that fast . Need some drive train tweaking. Looks like a blast 😂

Great video, looks like a fun track... Ouch on the broke Spindle, glad you are OK! What camera are you using with the speed readout?

It was a fun little crash. Really my fault for racing that hard in a kart not set up right. Its got like 10 inches of clearance so the center of gravity is just to high. The camera that I used was a GoPro 5. It has GPS with the gopro quik software you can add the speedo. Its cool and has helped with information on tracks.

Glad you're ok, I saw that wreck on Dennis' video. So did the nut just come off or did the front spindle break?

The bolt or axle of the spindle broke. I am fine. Just sore but that could be also from driving that rough track for hours. It was a great time and a great little track.

What kind of steel was the bolt/axle made from ? did it break at the weld ?

I am not sure. I think they are grade 5 bolts. They are not the goldish color you see grade 8 bolts in. I know there is some debate on what grade should be used.

Seriously, I thought since the start of the video that the right axles will suffer. Those cyclekarts are not made to turn left all the time I guess...
