Great video! Makes me want to pack up and head out right now. I like the fact that the video presents the ride in a way that helps folks understand that this is something to take care of as well as enjoy.

Planning March 2023. Coming from florida. We go 4 times a year to west Virginia Hatfield and mccoy trails. That has bought money into some of the poorest towns in the country.

Great to see and I hope to do this trail someday when my boys are older if it is still accessible. Unfortunately all around my local (California) the razors/side-by-sides are getting too aggressive, and now entire swaths of land are being closed. These new vehicle formats are essentially digging their own graves and for the rest of the offroad community. I have been "overlanding" for 30 years and back in the day you used to have to be serious about offroading to go to these places, enough so that you'd build up your vehicle to do so, and now anyone with a hundred bucks, whether they are in the Mojave or the Colorado Rockies, can rent a Canam or razor and pretend they are a race car in the baja 1000, crowding the trails and tearing up the trails.

I grew up offroading in CA and now I live in AZ. I know what you mean about the SxS's out there. Shell Reef at Ocotillo Wells for example. I went out there for the first time in 10 years and it's barely the same hill. Completely carved to bits by SxS's. It's a little different in AZ. There are more trails and forest roads out here than there are in CA which is mostly designated riding areas or SVRA's. You can just randomly pull off the highway in AZ and you'll be on BLM land with massive trail networks. The SxS's out here drive much slower and more deliberate, almost to an annoying degree. I ride a modded YFZ450 and like to rip hard. Just this past Saturday, I got stuck behind a group of 3 SxS's going freaking 10mph on the trails and weren't interested in letting me pass. I finally found a spot to rip past them and head back to my car. But when they finally arrived after me, one of the SxS's drivers had the balls to come tell me I was an asshole for driving above 10mph and that I "could have caused an accident". The culture is a bit different in a way that doesn't threaten trail closures. The Peace Trail will be around for years to come, I promise.
