The Mode of Electing the President This would be the topic of a comic moment if it wasn’t so serious and misunderstood today. What makes it worse is that Hamilton in Federalist #68, aptly titled “The Mode of Electing the President”, is so explicit and detailed on this subject. The problem we have today is we don’t understand the electoral process that was established in Article 2 Section 1 for this purpose, and it’s my intention to disabuse everyone by explaining it through example. We must begin with a short overall detail of the process’s component parts: 1. The identification phase 2. The narrowing phase 3. The ranking phase 4. The choosing phase These four phases are indicative of a list method for choosing which is totally nonpartisan and unbiased, it relies on identifying all the most qualified and suitable persons for a position, then those persons identified are reduced in number to reflect a more concise list, then that list of candidates is ranked, then the top candidates on the ranked list are deliberated over to further flesh out their suitability, then a vote on those candidates determines the person chosen by majority consensus. This basic structure is used whenever a consensus choice is necessary to produce the most qualified and suitable person without interference, bias, or corruption, and is used not only to choose the President and Vice President, but to also make appointments to fill vacancies in the executive and judicial departments, and a State also uses a variation to choose its representatives in the US Senate. This ensures that the choice is made by the “People in their Collective Capacity” an exact representation of the population as the most numerous legislative branch. To understand how this electoral process works in practice it’s necessary to return to the first utilization as established in Article 9 Clause 2 of the Articles of Confederation to assembly a court of appeals to hear grievances when there were conflicts and disputes between the States. A State with a grievance would petition congress as the last resort on appeal, upon receiving the petition congress would inform the other State in the dispute, then they would assemble a court to hear and adjudicate the matter by choosing 3 persons from each State to form a list of suitable persons, which would be 39, then that list was narrowed to 13, the number of States, from that 13 no less than 7 and no more than 9 persons were chosen, then 5 persons from that number were chosen by lot to hear and decide the dispute. If the States would have used this method to choose the President, then three persons from each State would make the master list, the list would be narrowed to 1 person from each State by striking persons from the master list until 13 remained, 1 person from each State, that list of 13 would have been ranked by the states choosing 2 persons on the list as long as they were from states other than themselves, the top 5 persons on the list so ranked would be deliberated and a vote, 1 vote per State, would be made and a majority of the States would be necessary to the choice. If we take this one step further, by using the principle of republican government to determine the number of choices each State could make on their list, then the master list would have as many names as the States had representation in congress, which is per capita proportional to the population of each State, then the States would reduce that number to 50 by striking names off the list until only 1 per State remained, then that list would be ranked as before by each State choosing two persons from the list as long as their choices were from States other than themselves, then from the top 5 on that ranked list the States would deliberate and vote, 1 vote per State, and a majority of the States would be necessary to the choice. That leads us to the final variation which was established in Article 2 Section 1 of the Constitution of the United States. Instead of the State’s representation in Congress choosing the list of persons from their State’s, a number of electors equal to the number of Senators and the whole number of representatives are chosen, which is an exact copy of the State’s representative deliberation in the congress, each elector would have two choices, at least one of which must be from a State other than themselves, these list of candidates is then forwarded to congress where they are compiled to form a master list which is already ranked, then from the top 5 persons on that list the States would deliberate and choose by vote, 1 vote per State, and a majority of the States is necessary to the choice. If there was anything that the States could have done when they wrote Article 2 Section 1 which would have improved the selection process and prevented any misunderstanding, it would have been to remove the language which allowed for the choice to be made from the ranked list for a person who had a majority of the electors and the most votes, allowing the States to choose from the top 5 on the list regardless of the number of votes which a candidate got based upon the ranking phase, then it would have been clear what the roles and responsibilities of the electors and the States in congress were and a consensus choice would always have been made without any interference, corruption, bias or any other partisan malfeasance. When we use this selection process properly, only consensus choices can be made without corruption, bias, conflicts of interest related to party affiliation, or partisan malfeasance! It’s time we followed the Constitution of the United States!

I am ignorant and still do not understand how come Hillary and not Bernie have been chosen as Democratic Party candidate for presidential election.
@nfpnone82485 ай бұрын
@@emiliaolgamarion Because the Electoral College is a totally unconstitutional mess. You cannot run for President in the United States, and you cannot win the Presidency, all candidates must be identified and vetted by an elector which forms a ranked list of candidates for each State, which is the primary, which is why if a candidate is identified by a majority of the electors, which are proportional to all the people, that person becomes president, if no candidate achieves that majority then only the top 5 form the ballot to be considered by the States to determine the choice by vote, 1 vote per State, and a majority of the States is necessary to the choice. The people of the States, through their electors, form a ranked list of candidates for the States to consider in Congress, the States make the choice by vote after considering those top candidates, 1 vote per State, and a majority of the States is necessary to the choice. The electors make the list, the states make the choice. Keep saying that over and over until we understand what it means. No person can declare themselves as a candidate, win a parties nomination, choose a running mate, run for and win States Electoral College votes winner takes all in competitive popular elections, to win the presidency. States have electors that vote, not electoral college votes, and a ballot is a piece of paper that an elector writes a name on, not a list of candidates for the electors to choose from! An elector can choose any person in the United States that meets the qualifications for holding office; must have reached the age of 35 at the time of choosing by an elector, must have resided continuously for 14 years within the United States at the time of choosing by an elector, must be a natural born citizen, and at least 1 of the 2 electors choices must reside in a State other than the elector themselves. The electors themselves must certify their list of candidates, before the list is sealed and transmitted to the seat of government directed to the President of the Senate, if there are names found in the list that do not meet those requirements, then those electors are instructed to change those choices to persons who do meet the requirements prior to certification. Also there can only be one set of electors for each State, because all the electors must be chosen at the same time, and must give their votes on the same day, a day which is the same in every State, that prevents group think and any national candidates, which is the same reason sitting members of Congress cannot be electors!

The Republicans are in favor of any regulation? Really? Since when? Can you name the last president to raise the corporate tax rate? Which party is always trying to place most of the tax burden on the wealthy and which party is always looking to give them and big corporations tax breaks? Once you have the answers to all of these questions kid you will see that it is you that is wrong and all one has to do is look at the details of the tax plan passed during Trumps term in office. Check mate!

he sounded to me like a republican who is very sure of his words, perspective and political position. And also, like someone who couldn't be led. Trump and Giuliani of HIS OWN PARTY did their damndest. Didn't succeed. And you think Adam Schiff was leading him? You're a clown.

This guy(Russell Bowers) is terrifying. First he states that he swore an oath to the constitution and then he declares the constitution is divinely inspired. So basically he swore an oath to God's words and not the country. To spell it out plainly, he's God's servant and not the country's servant. You want to know why your country is being ripped to shreds? Let me present you with exhibit A Russell Bowers.
