That should have been called a penalty, but it's earlier in the game. That's what everyone is complaining about is the ref blowing the game. Also where was the yellow card toward Robben as he flopped earlier in the game? Clearly a yellow was the right call and since there was none, he continued to flop later. This is a bullshit way to play a World Cup game. It takes the beauty of it out by allowing fake flops controlling the outcome of games. Especially when it's a known fake flop per and this is why Argentina played him the way they did, they kept their feets away knowing the ref allows him to do it freely without warning. You supporting that kind of behavior is sad!

He has one of the most humble personalities in football. Notice how he refuses to show any over joyous excitement when he watches his own goals, but smiles graciously on his teammates' and friends' goals and saves. He's also mentioned a few times in other interviews that he doesn't like to comment on himself and leaves it on others to judge. I would say it's ok to have a little bit of ego since it helps to boost confidence, but it's his choice and with what he's achieved so far, he doesn't need to take any advice. A truly humble character and a very underrated player. He's very close to the level of, if not as good as, Ronaldo or Messi or Klose to name a few. Wish him the best and many successes for his future games. Hopefully the football world starts giving him more credit and respect where it's due

Rafa Marquez stuck out his leg when the ball was already way passed him, he clearly catches Robben's foot. just because he goes down in a theatrical manner doesn't mean he dived, that's like Luis Suarez who makes sure the ref sees it when he's fouled, it's called clever.

It's over, whatever. But Mexico was clearly robbed this World Cup. Two goals taken away vs Cameroon and honestly, Mexico doesn't even end up playing holland because they would've been first place in the group. He made it "exuberant" in order to call the referee's attention, and that is a bit lame. But it was indeed a penalty, as the defender's foot was over Robben's own foot without ever touching the ball first, stripping him of his ball control using illegal ways.

LesPaul2006 There contact, but it was little contact, Robben could've easily stepped over it easily. I have been on the exact same situation when playing for my club..... People 5ft 11+ step on my shoes with extreme weight and most times; worst.. I simply continue running/dribbling. I don't go for either team. However, from experience and my perspective, that wasn't hard enough him to fall.

I don't think that anyone could honestly say that if they felt someone step on their foot, inside the penalty box, in the 92nd (I believe) minute, from a ludicrously tight angle, that you would not go down and try to win a penalty.

Robbed didn't dive, the player stepped on his foot which really hurt. Watch properly for those who think he dived which he didn't.

It was a penalty, Marquez made contact with Robben, not the ball.

+Nickolas Keen he said it happened before and it can be dangerous when he gets in contact with players (injury) so he wants to play it safe eh well as long as he scores without falling ..

Holland is known as a country that produces world class talent each year and Arjen Robben is definitely one of Holland’s all time greats. His speed, vision, dribbling and finishing are just exquisite.

Se ve clarito el pisoton entre el 1:49 y !:50, que se deja caer si, pero el pisoton existe y estaba dentro del area,penal claro, Rafa Marquez fue torpe. Ademas Robben merecia pasar, Mexico no podia detenerlo.

Of course he's going to say it was a penalty or not. Even if I did that and I knew it wasn't a penalty and i was being interviewed i would of said it was. If i said it was not that just proves that i cheated.

How was it revenge? Because Argentina won in the semi-finals? Don't you think that the definition of their revenge would have been them vs Germany in the final (since Germany won against Netherlands in the final in 1974).
