My mum is a Dogri Rajput from Jammu n dad is a Maithil Brahmin from Bihar... Both doctors,met in Medical College...Dated for 7-8 years n then after a lot of struggle n manana from my fathers side..my Brigadier Nanaji agreed... In 1974 they united their lives ,souls n Its a beautiful journey since... I n my brother know 8 languages... My parents are amazing... n super grandparents now!! We enjoy the culture n cuisines from both sides... So I love intercaste marriage stories... Thanks for this lovely story...

Yes. That is adorable to know for over intelligent caste based minded people,but it will be easy for loving mind people. Why I said over intelligent just go below to understand this jaati ka Matlab to ye but ki uchhi jaati ka aadmi kitna bhi bura Kare wo hamesha. Ucha hi rahega aur neechi jaati kaaadmi agar bhagwan bhi ban Jaye phir bhi wo apradhi hi kahlaye!Nature is god, this is written in every book, sun is the only lord, because every planet worship him, but some people always prayed humans!

After listening to the Dad, Divya - if you ever need advice or struggling with some issues/problems, you have a great father in law to consult/seek his advice/suggestions. Dad is very clear in his thoughts and likely in his actions too, and Mom seems very strong. They are blessed to have each other! Wish them all the happiness and good health! I noticed a similarity in your own story as you and Divya met again after some 10 yrs gap and seems like your parents too met again after some 10 yrs gap. In both the cases, it was the guy who sought/located the girl again. Very interesting, as they say history repeats itself!

Exactly. These cultural customs maybe over time have taken on different meanings but I love the phere vows. Doesn't matter what era when you hear those 7 vows you understand that yes this is about two people becoming equal partners and growing together. Culture will change but nothing changes spirituality

Especially your dad, he has a solid jigraa....it makes me grounded again...and think about what life really is about! We get so caught up with satisfying expectations of the world, that we let it change ourselves to match standards of other people. This was such a reality check...touched deep corners of my heart! I was so indecisive if i really wanted to watch a 24 minute long video of someone s love story.. But in between the moments of smiling and sudden crying I didn't even realise how these minutes passed....
