18:00 - Actually you CAN change how fast the food goes down by changing Dino Food Drain in the settings. Increasing the Taming Effectiveness is nice, it cuts down on number of food/kibble needed, decreasing resource required, hits to effectiveness and time/narcotics wasted. Increasing the Dino Food Drain just decreases the time/narcotics needed but keeps the challenge. Nice if you want to go onto servers and still have a clue about how much kibble it takes to tame something. I think it also decreases the time between feedings for passive tames (I haven't done many passive tames with increased food drain). I've been putting taming between 2-3 and food drain between 1.5 & 2. Not sure if it increases the food drain for tames too, but lets face it, you loose most of your food to spoilage.

Having tactical taming sheep on hand all the time on Ragnarok is really nice. Also, every Halloween event I run around like mad going to loot drops for veg cakes for them sheep.

Since I'm on crystal isles for some time I noticed I can get charged batteries here. As far as I know you can power a key pad with them to close the door of the trap. No need for a generator, or other funky stuff 😁

I had a very hard time taming one, i was on lost island so I used a net projectile to knock it out, but while it was taming my game crashed like 3 times and I had to delete my game and redownload it so it would stop, after I finally tamed it (i was using cooked mutton so it took a while) I named it Payne because a griffin is on the Payne family crest and it’s caused me a lot of pain trying to tame this thing and it was only level 46 (around 70 after taming)

Phlinger, listen to me, man. You need to do an ABC video on the paracer. It's a story dino, and it's vitally important on the Aberration map since it's the only dino you can build a base on.

PSA: If something is attacking a Griffin that you want to tame, you're going to have to help it. Despite what Phlinger says in this video, Griffins will not eat their enemies back. Wild Griffins are unable to deal damage to other wild creatures. So they'll constantly attack everything around themselves, but they are not able to kill them at all. Obviously this goes away once they're tamed, but it's a bug that Griffins have always had. If you play with numbers on you'll notice the damage numbers that hit you are white instead of yellow. That's because they deal a different type of damage that does not effect wild creatures.

Crystal Islands dont have higher level tames in comparison to other maps. That 130 Quatz was a lucky find, and yea in Crystal Islands you can easily find high levels Griffins there. Not because the map is aligned toward higher levels but because you get a huge spawn rates in comparison to Ragnarok,so the chance you'll find a higher level ones is pretty sure shot. If someone is interested in High level tames except Griffin like Qutzel "The Center" map is the one aligned toward high levels.

On mobile you need to Earn their RESPECT in order to tame them. Be Level 85 or have the same surnames as the Griffin or buy a golden crown (most effective) While Breeding them the baby that comes out cannot be claimed if the mother or the grandmother of the Griffin is not in the same room as it and you are in. A fully imprinted Griffin is a real deal for any dino even high level Gigas

on mobile, griffins are used to tame unicorns, because for some reason, unicorns wont eat anything but griffin kibble so yeah... i just have a unicorn trapped in a box because im not a high enough level to tame a griffin

I've gotten this issue on one of my griffins, which is me not being able to ride in the driver seat but instead getting locked to the passenger seat which completely stops me from using the mount. Anyone knows how to fix this?

I dont understand why people always use such crazy elaborate traps to catch gryphons and wyverns, like I just put up 3 stone dino gates (make sure ones spacing is big enough to let a pt in and out) and boom, it literally never fails me, I use it for everything from argies to wyv

I’m in the middle of taming a griffin rn and I had a 150 trapped and knocked out. Made a 2 minute (at most) trip back home to get some narcotics and it was gone. There was nothing around that could’ve killed it so it must’ve just despawned 😭😭

Can some of you guys help me out... What is the minimum character lvl to tame a griffin?? I have been looking for 2 days and I can't find a answer.....case is easy to tame creatures when you're lvl 105....but for beginners what is minimum lvl we need to be before we can tame a griffin??

Damn, finally a basics guide for this nice creature. Still, when you say you don't do basics guides for creatures that are not in storymode maps, it's kinda.. why? I mean, if you look at unofficial DLC maps (center, rag, valguero and crystal isles), the list of unique creatures on those maps is pretty short. You got Griffin, Deinonychus, Tropeognathus, 3 creatures total. Now you've only made a basics video of one of them, why not cover the rest too if there are a lot of people who ask them?

i used a ramshackle crossbow with 124.1% dmg and oh man was that scary when i saw the blood and i kept shooting at it i got hella scared since it was a 140 the first griffin i found in the map lol i barely got it at 200hp left out of like 3800

I have 2 traps made out of only 3 stone gates and 2 reinforced gate doors, on a rock by the griffin place. I grab my griffin, bait a high lvl one to the trap, when it's in it I hop off and net gun it, I close the trap, I find another high lvl griffin, do the same to it in the other trap, tranq them both, give mutton, wait. All I need is 70-90 tranq arrows with my crossbow each, works every time, the server has 2x food drain so I don't need narcs. I'm trying to be a griffin breeder, my best stats I have so far are two griffs with 55 points in hp, alot of griffins with 45 hp, a few with 44 meele and a few with 42 weight. Oh yea forgot to mention that server has a mod for breeding griffins like normal dinos xD

Bring Ankylo, get stacks of the black berries, no need for narcotics. Just feed a whole stack at once, hop on the Ankylo, get more stacks.

Tapo EMT They seem to do low melee damage, but if you glide (fast, if you don’t go fast enough it doesn’t work) and hit the attack button on any creature, while you’re still gliding, the damage is freaking amazing. Try it if you haven’t done so yet

@@zacharoof1764 Thanks for the tip. Yeah, I've tried it but I just meant my Argy can do almost 800 dmg per hit, Thyla a sliver under 1k per hit and so on. I get to my Griff and it's rocking 200 per hit. :( Fly up, go down, fly up, go down, fly up go down over and over to get similar results of just clicking attack just once on everything else I have. It's fine I guess. I can't go without his speed so Griffin it is!
