I graduated from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center for CBP in January. I am a Customs and Border Protection Officer and I am ever proud to say that. But my dream growing up was always to become a Trooper and I think about applying every day. I always watch the graduation ceremonies for different police academies and I can't help but to tear up because I know the hardships and everything they've been through. That beautiful feeling of being pinned your badge and handed your credentials makes it all so worth it. I'd do it again in a heartbeat

It is a way to induce stress and chaos to teach you how to keep your mind focused on the task at hand without having a brain dump and locking up. Not everyone can function under extreme stress and the first couple phases of Troop School do a great job of identifying those who can't while also helping the recruits establish that ability. Recently it has shown in real world how important that is. With the riots and everything going on right now, LE has to be able to stay focused on their mission and not be distracted by the ones who choose to stand in their face screaming and yelling. That is just one example that fits current times.

This is an excellent video showing why our Arkansas state police are one of the most ignorant and aggressive law enforcement agencies in the the nation. They know how to scream, intimidate, break the law, endanger drivers with an itchy trigger finger for the the famous arkansas pit maneuver, infringe on the public's freedoms, yet know nothing about the Constitution that they swear an oath to uphold. Excellent work.....

Thanks for your service (if you actually made it and are either still in or honorably discharged), but get humble and show the respect you should be showing to Arkansas State Police and these Troopers.
@dmkazich3 жыл бұрын
Be humble. About to graduate Michigan’s state academy right now and was a Marine from 12-16, by no means a cake walk. Sure, the yelling and mind games were nothing, but the pt is ridiculous and unless you were water survival advanced/mcwis the water safety program will have you begging for it to end. Not to mention the academics and report writing you have to hone in on. Plus, recruit school is twice as long and seemed like it would go on forever. Both were hard in their own way but just because you graduated from one doesn’t guarantee success in the other.

I’ve been through five different police academies and have seen a lot of prior service candidates crash and burn for one reason or another. Off duty antics, integrity issues, academics… One of the last things I did before retiring from the USMS was assist at FLETC with a USMS basic class. We had a prior service (army) candidate leave after the first day of the Criminal Investigator course after a smoke session that coincided with USMS initial equipment issue. I’m sure he thought it was going to be a walk in the park.

The whole paramilitary approach is extremely counterproductive.. wouldn’t this influence their attitude and behavior towards the public given the whole “do as you’ve been taught” philosophy?
@jrwash19622 жыл бұрын
It’s actually the opposite! This approach is what keeps LEOs from acting out at someone who gives them hell just because they don’t like you doing your job. It’s the discipline that makes you not lose your cool when dealing with a citizen trying to get you rallied up just so they can record you losing your cool!
@tonybrown9875 Жыл бұрын

Interesting way to train public servants....
@SeanPGribbons4 жыл бұрын
Evan Vath they pull people over for speeding and respond to traffic accidents. Look at a normal police academy who actually respond to calls. All that teaches these cops is that they can talk like that to the people they serve. There’s absolutely no reason for this type of training for people who conduct traffic stops and respond to accidents
@SeanPGribbons4 жыл бұрын
Evan Vath even greater reason as to why this is a bad idea. The military is ready for combat. State troopers sit on the side of a highway and stop people for driving to fast or respond to accidents. Troopers hardly ever see the same situations as say a city cop because they respond to vehicle incidents only. Most actual cops make fun of troopers because they’ve never responded to a real call only again traffic calls. Huge difference This style of training just encourages the officers to talk and act like that to the public.
@car_ramrod3 жыл бұрын
@@SeanPGribbons most of these troopers work in rural counties and do respond to every type of call. They back up cities and counties that might only have one officer/deputy on duty or they are often the primary unit on such calls. They are not strictly traffic cops. That training is definitely needed to be able to handle what they go through. ASP recently responded and were in charge of keeping order during recent protests that turned violent.
@SeanPGribbons3 жыл бұрын
Harley Sowell how many calls out in BFE you think they get regularly? Let’s be honest these guys do nothing other than stop people who commit driving infractions. My local PD sees 1000000x more action in one week and they don’t train their officers this way. Police should be trained to de escalate not get in someone’s face and talk down to them. They’re traffic cops.
@basicbodybuilding3 жыл бұрын

I fully respect these people’s commitments and perseverance! However when looking at the way these State Police trains and educate their troopers and police officers! It should come with no surprise or ignorance, why America has a such a big problem with police using excessive force and police brutality! In any normal civilized country this aggressive educational environment is solely used by the military forces! My father in law, is a very respected police captain. Here in Denmark! He has always said that Police training and your job as an police officer. 70% social, communication, psychology and deescalation training and 30% police investigations! If you train your police officers as they are about to go into a war zone, when they graduate that’s exactly how their approach will be in police work! You should get rid of 90% of all your aggressive courses, and change the police academy into 50% studies in psychology, deescalation, and empathy and respect lessons! If a police officer has to use force in protecting the public and society, he has failed! Of course there are always psychos that are going to kill people! But they are so rare, in 99% of all cases things could have been solved peacefully and calmly! A lot of police officers in America shows extreme aggression towards every single person they encounter, and draw their firearm 1200% more than danish police officers! If a danish officer has drawn his weapon, that is investigated and reported! Police can see in their statistics how many times police officers drew their gun in the last 10 years! It’s like around 300 times a year they have drawn their weapons and only 2 times have they discharged their weapon. 1 time they shot the perpetrator with 1 shot and 2 they fired a warning shot in the air! That’s it!

All about building the police state, militarising the police, taking federal UN funding and following their mandates. @@kyleellison4753 No intention to offend. Sorry. It wasn't just the style of the music but it drowned out the voices. It was your video and I did end up watching it muted. It's just that I've seen so many videos with loud obtrusive and utterly needless soundtracks that it boggles my mind. Somebody puts out a video which takes time and effort and then they put a soundtrack on it that doesn't fit anyway and drowns it out. A pet peeve I guess. But thanks for responding and for the video. I know a lot of troopers and intervieweda lot of them and never knew their training was so much like that.

@@jkmorrison1013 no worries, and I wasn't offended at all. I appreciate it and I get it! I've seen plenty of videos that I felt were hindered by the soundtrack. At the end of the day though, you'll never please everyone. You could probably build a better playlist for the video, but there would still be people that didn't like it. Something else to consider, these videos are made for each class, by one of the recruits, still in Troop School. When I was making the video I took recommendations for songs from the class, and tried to fit as many of them where I thought they best fit. In the end, I tried to make sure the entire class loved the video and was proud to use it to show off a very small portion of what they accomplished. Anyone on the outside enjoying it is just a bonus. I truly appreciate your feedback and I hope you enjoyed the video itself! Happy New Year!

The fact that they try to make state trooper school look like a military boot camp is the saddest thing I've seen, such a joke.

Says the guy who couldn’t make it 1 day thru troop school. Sign up and find out or sit the fuck down and shut up.

The joke's on you, KF Twat. The fact that you had such a need for approval from the other sour-grapes whiners by posting your comment tells everyone exactly what a dirtbag you're content to be. L O S E R

This is actually similar to Navy OCS at Newport Naval Station and they've been doing it this way for years only difference is military skills / PT is done by Marine drill instructors who are selected for this Duty otherwise you're seeing the same level of stress that the troopers on the street could experience
