Ryan Mallett and the Arkansas Razorbacks entered the game as underdogs, with #5 LSU as the highest ranked 1-loss team in the nation and still with National Championship aspirations at best, and Sugar Bowl aspirations at their worst.
Ryan Mallett finished the day with 320 yards passing and 3 TDs, while Cobi Hamilton finished the day with 3 receptions for 164 yards and 2 TDs. Costly errors in judgement and penalties did not help LSU, with 7 penalties for 51 yards and 3 lost fumbles.

Hilarious watching Patrick Peterson trying to catch Cobi Hamilton....Hamilton was the top sprinter in the state of Texas in 2009....Peterson even had the angle and Cobi just ran away from him down the sidelines.

I played a couple two or three state championships games on the this field for the Fort Smith Northside Grizzlies. Get butterflies each time I see a game played on this field. Go Hogs!!! Go Bears!!!

No you didn’t . What years then huh? Because I don’t remember anytime over the past couple of decades that FS either school was in three straight championships. If you did then you would know whether or not it was two or three games. Come on get your bragging correct at least .

Fort Smith Northside Grizzlies have only won (8x) state football champion: 1961, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1971, 1980, 1987, 1999. 2005-2006 they were 5A. Under Mike Falleur they have never been to a state championship let alone won one. I can tell you whoever devildog is they are lying.

I really wish that Arkansas had run it in. Years later LSU ran up the score passing with seconds left when the game was over. Les didn't have the same heart that Petrino did.

This makes me hate Perino even more...took us to the edge of the mountaintop then drove us into the ditch with his motorcycle and his girlfriend...program has never recovered
