Wooow you did an excellent job! I also agree with your choise of using a young plant because in a few years it will have merged very naturally with the dead wood and will be a real living sculpture! Congratulations my friend! 👍👍👍🔥

That's some outstanding work! I'd started my first major tanuki last year using some Grey Owl juniper, it endured it first winter with little die back. I look forward to seeing an update on yours.

When I look at your work I have the impression of a tree that came back from a long dormant period of life. I can follow your idea of taking a young tree and enjoy the journey in future. Tanuki is for me a good way to “revive” trees that did not survive my treatment. I like your style with no talks, essence only ❤

Definately! For now, it lost its top, 10cm (4in) but the new tops below have grown strong, in a year I'm going to exchange the dead with another. I want it to grow tall enough to come above the deadwood and get some sunlight. I would say more than 4 years. Itoigawa seems slower than regular Chinese juniper. But I'm afraid the next important update might be 2.5 years ahead... Thank you!

i think you should carve that live vein so as the trunk swells it will set automatically i and you will not need to add new nails over and over
@ArkefthosBonsai
@ArkefthosBonsai Жыл бұрын
Yeah Alessandro, I get it. I will try to set it with the wall of the vein which is substantialy high, though. I think it will be fine. And I prefer to keep adding nails and generally working on it. Don want nail it and forget it for 2 years. I think it will get there. Thank you for your comment! Cheers!

Me encanta tu canal y tus contenidos. ¡GRACIAS! ❤ ¡Salud!

Thank you John for your comment. I explain my thought and procedure at the captions - subtitles which I guess you did not enable. Nevertheless, the name of the game with bonsai is patience. Even though this looks anticlimactic now, in 4 years there will be foliage in all the right places and I'm going to be able to wire it and give it a first shape. Meanwhile, I can enjoy this as a sculpture in the garden. I wouldn't call it ruined. Cheers!
