The best part of this series is that it brought back Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill. They will forever be the greatest Batman and Joker ever. RIP Kevin Conroy thanks for all the brilliant performances.

I've always enjoyed the messages Joker would leave for Batman on his phone. The song he sings for him at the very end really ties the whole relationship dynamic together

City is great, but Knight takes it for me. I still play it, too. I just completed a Knightmare run a few days ago. Grapnel lvl 4 is intoxicating. It feels so good. I know it's technically gliding, but it feels like flight. I actually feel like an airborne predator.

Ever since release, ik every way and every room in this map from the back of my head, i never have to use the map as ik where everything is. This personally is my favorite video game map ever and I just love the environment

Arkham city is a theme park for batman fans is not a pretentious title at all. I find it true and straight to the point.

I can attest 2011 was a pretty spectacular year. And one with fonder memories in gaming. That was also the year I played Batman Arkham Asylum for the first time leading up to the release of Arkham City. The year I got my PS3 for my birthday. It was a game I had to seek out because everyone say it was the perfect Batman game the world has ever witnessed. And that fall period, wow what a glorious time it was. Gigantic games left and right like no other. I was fortunate enough to play them all too. I even played the Uncharted games that year. And you know what else released that year? Uncharted 3. When that fall came, I played Batman Arkham City, Sonic Generations, and Uncharted 3. Can you guess which game I had the most fun with? Yup. And I say this as someone who has enjoyed, and played all the blockbuster AAA games. I was SPOILED. The first time I played Batman Arkham City, I forgot what sleep is…. I was mind blown. And keep in mind I JUST played Batman Arkham Asylum. And lost my mind how good that game was like everyone else. Arkham City was one of the best experiences I ever had in a video game. Little did I knew that feeling wouldn’t be replicated again. Not from Rocksteady or other superhero games at least. Lol It was a very special experience. There is a reason Arkham City is this profoundly popular, amazing Batman game. It was literally peak goosebumps level greatness quality. A sequel that more than delivered what Asylum achieved. And everyone has craved for that again for years that somehow since hasn’t surpassed that level of hype/achievement. Back then to now, all I wanted is a good, enjoyment, video game experience. A good rock solid story that doesn’t need serious complexity with a self contain world building universe is a perfect game. And yet it further set the standards of everyone needing a shared universe for rest of time despite being an era of pre MCU. Lol It was just wow what a great game.

rewatching this again as an Asylum fan, I'm also glad City went into a different direction. I think City can be just as scary as Asylum thanks to Zasaz being on the loose and crazy thugs around every corner. There's a man stealing faces and Riddler has left deadly traps. The only safe area is the shelter near the court, but the political prisoners there are still cold and have no food. So they have to risk going out into the open. It's also really cold in Arkham City. Many of the prisoners have no place to escspe the snow. I was gonna say that the church is safe but Harley and Riddler took it over easily

I completely agree what you said about the soundtrack. I think it’s not talked about enough.

City was just the perfect Batman game. Yes, it loses that total claustrophobic element from Asylum (though I guess this is the case with all post-Asylum Arkham games), yet the tradeoff for that was that there was greater exploration. Not to mention there are far more villains here than there were in Asylum given with varying levels of depths which I enjoyed. And that ending. I'd say it's the best ending out of all Arkham games. So another great analysis of the game. I'm guessing you're going by release date and Origins will be next? In terms of games in the series, there's other titles like Origins Blackgate and Arkham Underworld. Would be cool to hear your review/analysis of them, but I'm guessing you haven't played them (Origins Blackgate isn't a AAA title, and Arkham Underworld being a mobile title, isn't available anymore).

This game is The Dark Knight of video games. And both are sequels go figure. 😂

I like how Batman carries Joker instead of Talia. That's how forgettable she is

My main issue with the story is that Talia tells Joker (clayface) about the Lazarus pit and lets joker (clayface) hold her hostage. Then she tries to stab him. Whats the point? Why give Joker (Clayface) that information about immortality if she was gonna stab him? What happened to her ninja guardians? Did they stay in the sewer???

Arkham City is best of all Arkham games even better than Arkham Knight but all of them is awesome games 🙂👍

at first i thought " this place is stupid no city on earth would have such bad design" then i thought "it's gotham, without it the neo-gothic asthetic of the city wouldn't exist" and then i saw what a goddamn mess american cities are and suddenly narrow streets going between buildings made so much sense

Arkham City: where Batman is dying, and getting a cure is of utmost importance in order to save Gotham... yet you are constantly asked to run errands. Weird, badly-written, badly-paced.
