Ulpianus (6* Crusher Guard)
1st Talent (Elite 2):
Whenever this unit takes damage, restores 100 Health Points to self; when HP is below 50%, the healing effect increases to 160 Health Points
2nd Talent (Elite 2 Potent 5):
Each time this unit defeats an enemy, increases own Max Health Points by 120 and Attack by 30, stacking up to 10 times. Other [Abyssal Hunter] Operators receive 50% of the Max Health Points & Attack increase
1st Skill (M3):
Throws an anchor straight ahead that drags up to two enemies around the target location towards this unit moderately and deals 270% Attack as Physical damage
2nd Skill (M3):
Talent 1 effect increases to 2 times, Block +1, Max Health Points +60%, Attack +160%
Unlimited duration
3rd Skill (M3):
Max Health Points +80%, Attack +260%, immediately throws an anchor straight ahead, which stops upon hitting a target or reaching the maximum distance, dealing 160% Attack to all nearby enemies and Stuns them for 6 seconds. If the anchor lands on a deployable tile, Ulpianus immediately moves to that tile
Can manually deactivate skill; when the skill ends, Ulpianus returns to his original position

As great as he is, I'm still disappointed that abyssal hunters don't have a counter for the nervous impairment mechanic, I get that would be more or less busted but they should be the best anti-seaborn faction anyway.

apparantly, the buff from his 2nd talent are direct stats buff, not +% but straight up increase base stats, allowing Atk% and Hp% multiplicative skill to be increase further than normally

So HP is healed by a flat amount. I suspected it was going to be like that, another guess was that it was going to be a percentage of the damage taken from the enemy so that it would work like Shelter without counting as Shelter. My other guess, which I knew wouldn't be the case, was a percentage of his HP. That would’ve been broken knowing how large his HP can get with the AH Buffs.

And I feel Crusher was the best choice. The Abyssal Buffs with the highest HP and ATK class is gonna be wild. ~30% DR from Gladia 3.5% Max HP a second 50% HP from Skai and Spec Alt +22% Atk from Skadi Also, the atk speed and skill points regen

A bit confused about ulpianus talent 2. Does that mean that on top of needing 10 kills for max potential, it dissapears if he is retreated. Meaning the AH buff only works when he's deployed. Am i getting this right?

seems like it, yeah he needs to be on field and probably removed if he is retreated. its the same as gladiia and specter mod 3 (not to be confused with spalter).

I mean her faction isn't abyssal hunter but she does have an abyssal hunter specific mechanic in her talent 2 so it does seem like she was meant to be paired with them.

skadi, skalter, and andreana only, the rest needs to be deployed. you can tell by the skill description, "when in squad" is present for skadi skalter and andreana
