Ascalon is supposed to be damage-specialized Sure, not vs bosses but many of the good ops that also aren't specialized vs bosses do better

@@bluerendar2194 I don't think she's damage-specialized though? She's more of a hybrid of damage and cc. Sciel made a video comparing her to Mostima.

@@luisdagamer02 Mostima is already not optimal outside of her strongest slow and it affecting invul enemies, so imo not a great comparison. Ascalon reminds of either Spalter S2/Mod X doll spam, or of Qiubai. I guess hopefully for her it's the former and not the latter.

@@Pomho1812 I can’t speak for cn players but from what I’ve seen on bilibili and a cn player circle, their judgement for operators are a lot stricter LOL also even without that we had like one big funny damage dealer per month so can you blame them when ascalon doesn’t do the same(?)

@@pradeepjaatedit6176 Ebenholz and Viviana in principle of that being what they were designed for (even though Viviana failed at it and is more of a tanker) By Other principles however, such as "having too much damage for no particular reason" theres Mlynar, Degenbrecher, Yato alter, Surtr, Typhon... Unless you were trying to make fun of the statement because Ascalon is killing some bosses and trying with others, in which mb, but it doesnt change the fact she wasnt *designed* for it and older bosses are just wimpy.

Ambusher for me is usually specialised in crowd controlling instead of kill bosses

For her role (AoE CC) she has damn good damage! I don't think people should be comparing her to boss killers at all. Her main use will be to keep the hard hitting enemies from reaching your boss killers, and she seems pretty damn good at it, while also helping bring their HP down too.

Her dmg comes from her talent that deals arts dot, not her basic attacks

Her problem is that she really isnt better than mizuki on damage. Heck she is actually slightly worse as she trades some for extra CC Fine for an ambusher but definitely nothing meta

Which is fine. The CC is also needed in hard contents, where damage gets nerfed to oblivion.

@@billlee3851 Except we have million ways of CC already and she doesnt bring anything new to the table Also damage being nerfed doesnt mean anything, you still have to dps the enemies wich force you to use high tier dps units. Thats why units that can SLOW and Debuff are the best on this regard like suzuran.
