Personally, I love how they portrayed the contrast of grey hall that appears to be a council room where negotiation takes place into a gladiator arena where the strong reigns above the weak. Also, how are you doing Mr. Rhodey?

The thematic portrayals, music, animation and artstyle surely looks fine and the fighting is flashy but if I were to be hyper critical I personally disagree with you saying the swordfighting or choreography is good. They do this in pretty much all their animations which features a fight and some constructive criticism would be to add some friction or weight and build-up/anticipation. Random bursts of speed from nowhere and the "floaty" choreography ruins the potential Arknights could achieve in their fighting animations. They also swing their weapons around like children so more practical styles would be nice for people like me who are more passionate about fighting scenes. 1:07 had buildup for the sword rain and for a long to cast move it was very easy to avoid. Lapppland chose to move away and block the last sword despite showing herself to be significantly faster than the attack and Texas stayed back doing nothing during that sequence presumably waiting for her other sword just to throw again (which is very unoptimal considering she can generate sword projectiles). 1:18 had the 2nd build-up attacks but the swordsmanship and speed there was just as impressive if not worse than their casual clashes from earlier so I am critically going to write that it was a fairly weak ending to the fight especially since they included a lot of visual effects that didn't outline anything other than what I assume is the fighters canceling out eachother's attacks which they were doing consistently earlier with the same 0 effort. Arknights does this more in other animations but showing characters off by having them putting in little to no effort removes urgency and a sense of danger in the fights. It's actually like watching a grown up beat-up children which is not impressive at all or in cases like this animation it's like they both agreed to specifically clash weapons for fun. The thing they did right with the fighting animation was following the action, there was only 1 moment where I questioned the camera angle during the fight but for the most part they did this fairly well. They have the potential to give viewers excitement for quality fights instead of just looking kind of nice. Then again I could be overestimating and being too critical on a little animation special. It's not like this is a battle anime but they could maybe do better on the actual anime since I didn't find anything there particularly memorable either when considering fight scenes other than 1 fodder guy specifically getting hit in the balls by another nameless character which I found funny.

I love the aesthetic and the work on the media, music, characters etc But i feel like the story didn't reach the expectations Lappland and Texas created on their backstories during all these years

@@Fulcrox The story isn't the best, let alone a perfect one. But i still enjoy the writing and love the message they're trying to convey. IS feels like a huge setup for a future Siracusan event, so i hope they will cook another great one.

@@velvetra29 i don't dislike the message and i grew fond of the new characters like Lavinia, Leon, even Danbrew. I just think they didn't fully use the foundations they already had for the characters, mainly Texas and Lappland, is just weird to think that Lappland gaslighted herself for a decade into thinking there was an "Old Texas" that never existed, that Lappland and Texas we're never friends (with Giovanna taking that place) and that Texas aversion to Lappland is simply based on her erratic behavior and not a an actual problem/event they had. It's kinda weak as characterization, contrary to Sora who got a impecable characterization with an awesome developement into maturity, easily best character in the event

No you're right. Objectively right. She's the sole reason we got kickass fight scenes to begin with. Without Lappland and her trolling we would've only get Texas moping around and be the side character in her own event while Penance and Vigil runs the whole main show.

Most probably just raw energy exerted out to hurt her enemies but I do want more explanations too, as it seems that unlike Texas stuffs seems to be her family teaching Lappland’s is from her own tech
