For $220, the #ArloPro2 made it to be one of Security Baron’s best home security cameras of 2019, and for good reason. The camera has the industry standard of 1080p HD video, a wide field of view of 130 degrees, plus the ability to zoom in eight times. An indoor/ outdoor camera, it works in temperatures from negative four to 104 degrees Fahrenheit, with two-way audio, infrared night vision, and a week of cloud storage, completely on the house. And if you’re already in a smart home ecosystem with connected devices, you’ll love hooking up the Arlo Pro 2 to Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple HomeKit, IFTTT, and Stringify. The possibilities are endless!
While the Arlo Pro 2 doesn’t come with person detection, it is available through Arlo Smart, as is more cloud storage, activity zones, and a safety button. The camera comes equipped with a loud siren and it must be placed within 140 feet of the Arlo Hub. I love Arlo and have used the older version camera/server for years with no issues. I recently upgraded to this Arlo Pro 2 Smart Home and I am having an issue with the cord when it comes to recharging this camera. I see on the internet that there are several reviews about the cord and recharging. Your video does not address the cord and recharging. Have you had any issues with this?

Nice video, thanks. Quick question about the HUB It has to be wired to the internet modem all the time? I have a 2 floor house with a roof door. So i jave to put 1 cam on the top floor and 1 on the entrance, I had experienced my wifi low in the top floor. So my problem is location of the modem, and if I choose Arlo, my new problem.is the HUB...

Hi Felix, thanks for the feedback. If you just want one camera and you are sensitive to price, then go with the Logitech. If you want a couple of cameras go with the Arlo. If you want to build out your system, you may want to go with Arlo as they seem to be investing other home security hardware for the future. However, the weather proof Logitech is a pretty mean little camera. If you have any particular questions, let me know, those are my general thoughts.

Hey Gabe, quick question about the Arlo Pro 2. I am looking at these and they are on the top of my list due to being wireless and easy to install myself. I know that it lacks some on the night vision which is my biggest concern due to having vehicles broken into a good bit recently. My question is if I install a large flood light will the camera automatically switch to color night vision or will the spotlight have to come on to activate the color night vision? Thanks for your help!

Hi, Even with a flood or spotlight, your night vision will still be in black and white but things may be more clear. But I wouldn't recommend adding a light because that brings so much attention to your camera. Yes, but that would make the camera really conspicuous, which isn't always the best idea. If you want a similar camera with excellent night vision, I'd check out the Nest Cam Indoor: bit.ly/2Jads4r

It’s important to note however, that the free seven day cloud storage is only good for up to five cameras. If you use more than five, you do have to subscribe for at least $10 a month for cloud storage for all of them at that point.

If you have the camera plugged in you are meant to be able to use the facial recognition and also gives you animal and car detection also. So it is only not working for you due to using it on battery not wired.

Hi Karen, It doesn't have to do with whether the camera is plugged in or not- it's whether you have Arlo Smart. If you have it, you just go into settings> smart notifications> select your camera> select people (or vehicles, animals, or other motion if you prefer). Unfortunately Arlo does not have two-factor authentication, but I can see in their online idea exchange that customers have asked for it multiple times, so it could be created in the future. I would state that the best way to describe the Arlo Pro 2 is weather-resistant, not weatherproof. If you live in a particularly frigid area, the cameras will turn themselves off. However, they work well below freezing, you will just need to make sure to watch the battery life.

Battery lasts approximately 3 weeks, nowhere near the quoted 6 months, so keep your ladders handy! 2 Way Audio is useless unless your within a couple of meters and night vision is poor. Plugged the camera into the mains in order to gain access to the additional features only for the camera to stop charging. New cables, power brick along with a reset / sync with the hub failed to cure the issue. Also intermittently fail to connect to Amazon Alexa. Overall pretty hit an miss for an higher end wireless camera. Daytime viewing great, but problems with power, night time viewing and Alexa access has forced me to look for something else. Disappointing.

is the price really that bad? I don't know. I Bought a camera for $50 from Amazon Cloud Cam, i think it is called. Just to use its basic features it will cost $7/month or $84/year. While you don't pay as much upfront, in the long run i think some of these cheaper cameras may cost you more.

Just wanted to mention the local storage is not 100% true. What I mean by this is that if you lose internet connection and it can't send the data to the cloud then it won't store it locally.

We’ve only had the cameras up and running for a short time. kzfaq.infoUgkxOXxsTZ3ptV_Pk0fFl8bNZvVqeoqBQFwe So far we love them! I got the outdoor mounting kit for them and they were easy to install. Once you download the app, it walks you through the very easy set up. The clarity, and range is awesome. I am thinking seriously about adding another camera or two to my 3 camera system. The price is lower than a lot of comparable systems.

I bought these cameras and they are literally the worst! I had to charge them every week even with low motion sensitivity. I ended buying the solar panels and it killed the batteries so now the cameras don't work and need a new battery. I spent over $1,000 on this crap and i'm so disappointed! I definitely dont recommend them to anyone!

FYI, All the Arlo cameras 2-way audio SUCKS. Poor audio quality and laggy. It's totaly useless. Only 1 at the time can talk/listen. It's "PTT" and not "Open mic". Tho the audio captured in Arlo videos is good.

Just bought the Arlo Pro 2 with 4 cameras. The system automatically logs out in 30 minutes or less! Talked to Arlo tech support and was told that there's no way to extend the auto logout to 12 hours or longer. This totally defeats the purpose! We have to take the time to log in every time we get a push notification that there's been 'motion' on one of our cameras. This is ridiculous and a total waste of $$. Do not buy this product!!!

Everything said and done. Own 4 of these pro 2's for the last 4 months. They are unreliable and frustrating. Battery will need weekly charges in hi traffic. 2 way audio is useless soft and slow on all our family cameras. Arlo base disconnects all the time. Live feed takes forever to stream. When they do work there is loads of lag. Geofencing IS UNRELIABLE! Security barron? These are no good for security as they will propably not work when you need them most. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!
