The C-RAM/Phalanx CIWS (Counter-Rocket Artillery Mortar) system and CIWS (Close In Weapon System) use a 20mm gatling cannon and Thermal Vision to destroy incoming targets.

I love to make these simulation videos for you and I am happy that you all like them a lot! The graphics of Arma are very good, it almost looks like in real life. Rather simulations than real war!
I definitely don't want to give the impression that I glorify war, I am just a enthusiastic gamer.
The weapon systems are of course used differently in real life, but I am happy to educate you about these weapons systems, many do not even know that they exist.

Those things would engage the aircraft much farther away. And are far more accurate then that. hey can shoot a mortar and an artillery shell out of the air. A slow moving ground attack craft with a vastly larger surface area from any angle. Should be no challenge.

The c-ram was player controlled, that's why it's accuracy wasn't similar to real life. Second, the c-ram's firing distance is actually pretty short ,(in terms of air/naval distance) they weren't designed to fire at long ranges, rather they were designed to be a backup in case the plane got to close or the other AA systems failed to take down the aircraft.

a C-RAM wouldn't even engage an airplane in the first place, and its moto is absolutely not accuracy, but "shoot so many rounds that it would mathematically be impossible to miss"

@@galaxymyt4834 I know all about it I was in the military for many years, and I've seen the damage 20mm can do, with my own eyes, so no bro, I love the A10 but 30 to 40 rounds of 20mm, would pretty much drop any fighter plane out of the sky, a 20mm isn't a .22 rifle bro, 20mm is what those C-RAM PHALANX use, and that's why it's used, because most everything will fall with it

I know it's no. 22, I knew that, that's why I mentioned what I did, and I love the A10 as well, 5 combat tours 13 years service, the A10 saved my ass as a M1A1 Abrams tank driver, and as an Airborne Ranger, so yes smh, the 20mm is definitely more damaging no doubt than a .22 rifle, even though against a human being the .22 is lethal

The C-RAM weapon system is very real. It is a land based self defensive weapon adapted from the Navy’s Phalanx Close In Weapon System (CIWS). The video imaging that you’re watching is not real, it’s all computer generated graphics, but it is a fair representation of how the C-RAM engages targets.

the footage is from arma 3, the C-RAM weapon system is real. Its pretty much land version of navy CIWS
