I’m at TACP school right now, I’m a Marine and my class is mostly Marines but we have a USAF Major who’s an A-10 pilot and it’s pretty cool to see the differences in SOP between the branches. Marines are way more doctrinally bound, and our USMC TACP TACSOP dictates a lot more restrictive controlling on our end than our Air Force counter parts

Annoying how the marines have a tacp school, when the Air Force has that as their job title, with a 2 year pipeline. Wish the marines had named it differently. But you are definitely right. Marines do it quite differently.

@@ggNotSuree TACP is apart of our FSCC (fire support coordination center) which you can have at the battalion all the way up to the division level. The TACP school grants you the secondary MOS of 8002 (JTAC) and requires you to stay current in order to keep it. Air Force TACPs have JTAC as one of their many qualifications but you’d actually find that most 8002s tend to be more proficient at controlling CAS than your average TACP in ASOS due to the fact that AF TACPs have a lot of other skill sets to polish and terminal control isn’t their primary or only role unlike a 0861/8002

Yeah man, most of these mods are on the public steam workshop, alot of the sound and aircraft mods are private mods.

Deadass how do you estimate Ei killed. How does it work in the real world.

It depends, if I can visually see targets being neutralized then it’s easy. Most of the time it’s estimated based on the size of the target or vehicle. For instance if I destroyed a BRDM. There’s atleast a driver, gunner, and some form of troop commander so that’s normally always an estimated 3 EKIA. IRL they would either utilize UAS for an updated BDA or when ground force secured the objective it’s their job during SSE to secure any EPWs and update the BDA.

I remember with the Ukraine war going on right now seeing Ukraine’s claims of enemy losses and later on NATO apparently showed them how to do casualty estimation and it’s number went up a lil tho the visually confirmed equipment losses are eye watering enough as it is tbh.
