@@Morrigi192 Completely depends on how the infection initially spreads. If it was an airborne virus that lay dormant for a few weeks before turning people it could spread to most of the world including a large portion of the army. Its easy towipeput a city of zombies when you have a full army of tens of thousands to deal with it. But when that number is massively cut down from infection it gets a lot harder. Sure as we see here each soldier could kill hundreds of zombies. But when your military forces are outnumbered 10000 to 1 it becomes a lot harder. Supply line breaks down and unless you can kill a massive number within the first year or two to provide enough zombie free farmland . Food is quickly going to become scarce. But a bite spread infection as the only way to spread would be shut down before it reached a hundred people

They'd certainly be able to prevent large hordes from forming with artillery and airstrikes, which are utterly devastating against unarmored infantry in the open, undead or living.

Yeah, things have changed. In the older movies the military used show up and be ridiculously incompetent or otherwise useless. In the newer ones, they just don't show up at all. Thing is, in real life, the National Guard is always one of the first groups sent to contain serious disease outbreaks, rioting, natural disasters, and so on in the US.

Rei Pia Depending on the apocalypse upwards lf 90% of the soldiers could be infected. If the virus lay dormant for a few weeks before it took hold it could infect that many people and so when it does beckme active and zombify the host only a small number of soldiers remain. Could make a good story. A few loan surviving soldiers banding together with others to try and organise a defense for the larger civillian population. Even if they are very competent the shear number of zombies could overwhelm small groups or if entire cities worth moved against them, fully defended stations. Does matter if you have a hundred men with guns and rocket launchers if they out number you 100,000 to 1. That would probobly be the ratio of soldiers to zombies if the infection really spread
