The single best thing about nelson is u can lock the guns to point straight at the start of the battle. This gives u time to see where the threats are before swinging the turrets across

@@TheAmir259, No, only 2 turrets could fire straight up, but a slight change of course will allow you to fire a full broadside.

She really does. That or the torps the Rodney got to use in the Battle of the Denmark Strait. If she had them, she deserves them. For 375k XP, we deserve that.

@Luca Cassar Wait, Nelson wasn't even part of the hunt for the Bismarck. Rodney was. And Rodney engaged Bismarck alongside HMS King George V closer to France than the Denmark strait.

Great Britain _was_ one of the naval superpowers of that time, and they most certainly had a larger fleet than Japan. I got the Nelson about 2 months ago and have learned a few things. 1. Great Guns, at least tier 8, very accurate and strong. 2. Poor Hull, this ship can be citadeled from any direction with a gun size over 305mm. 3. No speed and slow turning So if you intend to take this thing into PVP battles you will have to hide behind an island and snipe. Even the Colorado is a better ship.

Whenever Winston Churchill heard the quip that Royal Navy service consisted of nothing by "Rum, buggery, and the lash," he replied, "I wish I'd said that." In 1940, HMS Rodney was moored at Scapa Flow. One of her stokers was found at one of the islands around the anchorage "in falgrante delicto" with a Scottish sheep. At his court martial, he would plea that he thought the sheep was a WRNS (pronounced 'wrens') (Woman's Royal Naval Service) in a wool coat. For the rest of her career, the crews of other ships would constantly "Ba-a-a-a" whenever they were in earshot.

Short review: She will get wrecked by AP and HE, push in and you die. This is a "nose in" BB for that reason. They way to play her successfully is to play safer at first, picking off cruisers and setting fire to everything (50%+ fire chance). Then in the later half start pushing and finishing the enemies off. Grade = 7/10. Fun to play but it might be better to save up for a Missouri/Musashi, since they will make you a lot more credits.

Seeing this shop makes me think, wouldn't it be better to have 2 or 3 ships that always go together, low armor high speed, high maneuverability, double the anti aircraft and only one of these turrets each. It would make them very flexible, strategic and difficult to hit if they operated together...

Historical wise, there are some errors. 0:33 - Design O3 was a direct successor of the G3 & the N3 of which both of them don't have any main turrets placed on the stern. I consider them as a successor due to the Washington Naval Treaty. Had it not been for it, O3 won't be a worthy successor. But the point here is that the naval treaty wasn't the one that caused the british designers to go with this unique design. It was the designs of the G3 & the N3 themselves. 1:02 - The all-fore turret design? It wasn't just proven by the British, the French themselves tested this as well so don't put all credit just on Nelson-classes. Effective? Sure but you'll have to suffer some minor damage from your own guns. Reasonable? If it really was, they would've continued with this as their tradition, and the KGV & Lion-classes would've inherited this configuration as well. Even the French stopped at Jean Bart. Gascogne was an upscaled Deutschland-class whilst the successor to Richelieu-class never had an all-fore turret configuration anymore.

One day I was playing some random battles and I encountered a Nelson. I fired a full AP salvo from my New Mexico and not a single shell penetrated her. This continued for a couple of salvos until one single shell hit it. And the came a destroyer and sunk Nelson. I did just 2k damage to that ship

Historically while one of the victorious ships in the battle against the KMS Bismarck, she would also be on the losing end of seeing much action, her centre side turret & the hull area below suffered a hit from the German canons that damaged actuators, thus the turret could not raise its guns before they would start jamming up and locking up, the damage to the hull would cause multiple water intakes, causing the front bow to tip more into the water,

Also, Rodney was more likely be suffering the shock of hwr own guns than anything else

@@toveychurchill6468 I am relating to you what I read based on accounts of Royal Navy requisitioned, which are 50/50 fact & or fiction, but I stand by my main estimates of how the encounter might have played, The only more direct authentic forms of information would be to read up on Royal Navy Martine history, documents, files and mission reports, which are not accessible where I live, and even if I was British and in the Royal Navy, I would have to be First Sea Lord to have that kind of access, then again the files are probably long lost or destroyed, Alternatively, there is the case of producing the body for proof, which in both cases, cannot be done because nr.1 the KMS Bismarck is a war grave and tampering with that could lead to a major international lawsuit, nr.2 the ships of the Royal Navy fought the German flagship have been scrapped, the crews of any of the ships, having long since passed away,

The Nelson is a solid ship but fires are not a huge threat to her. The real threat to her are torpedoes and AP shells.

Actually they were slightly better than the Nagato's 16 inch guns, if Navweaps is anything to go by anyway, and they and a considerably larger bursting charge. That said the Colorado was still a good bit better.

What allies? There are no allies in the game, just rivals in farming, and players who get penalty instead of reward for shooting at u, they are not allies! And I have honor (and spine), so I don't set a BB fire with another BB's main gun, unless it forces me (he's using HE on me).
