If I'm there, it's not a gun-free zone. BRAVO for this young citizen, for being of the same mindset. Prayers for the victims and loved ones.

Our hero managed to hit his target from 40 yards out in a high stress situation with a pistol. I will never be able to explain just how impressive this is to non gun people

I think it’s also worth noting that while the hero stopped the shooter 15 seconds from the initial shot, he also took 10 shots, hitting 8 from 40 yards away while closing the gap and calling for citizens to get behind him. This 22 year old hit 8 of 10 at 40 yards, under duress and fire. That’s one hell of a feat and gives credence to training at a distance. Further, there seem to be reports of the initial victim also carrying a firearm but was unable to use it as he was murdered in surprise by the active shooter. This just means that while my heart goes out to all the victims, it’s ever so much more important for more law abiding citizens to carry because sometimes, one may be given enough time to react while others are not so lucky.

His girlfriend says he pushed her back and told her to stay hidden. Her grandmother described what happened and from the sound of it, this young man was composed, trained and not only stopped the threat, but helped others there.

The kid is not taking interviews, he is smart beyond his years. Gotta applaud him, hopefully he has a good attorney also.

This is a perfect example of why so many of us carry a firearm each and every day. God bless this young man for protecting the lives of those unwilling to do the same.

Notice how the bad guy picked a "Gun Free Zone", which is really an Unarmed Victim Zone. Good thing he wasn't the only person who ignored the sign.

The "gun-free" zone is probably WHY the shooter chose this area. He was looking for soft targets and in an area where people amassed. BRAVO for this young man who put down the threat! What a prime example of why W&C is significant for law-abiding, well trained citizens.

When seconds matter, the police are minutes away. Thank God this guy was on the scene and able to stop that killer. He is a hero.

I live in Indiana. There's so many gun owners here. I was in a bar a few weeks ago. Someone brings up the topic of guns. Turns out, everyone in there was armed. Bartender included.

Carrying a gun even in "illegal" or "restricted" places is still constitutionally legal. Remember, a sign is not a cop; it won't protect you. Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

I’m so happy that this young man wasn’t prosecuted or even questioned. I live less than 10 minutes from that mall and my first thought was “would I have pulled that trigger?” Not because I’m afraid to engage but because the legal system has punished good samaritans over and over again when they are morally 100% correct in their actions. Common sense isn’t so common nowadays

This occurred in my neighborhood. Kind of a shock, but thankful for the young legally armed hero. Condolences to the victims. The first man that was shot was also armed but didn't have a chance to go for his gun.

Do you think that shooter cared if that was a gun free zone? It probably helped him select a place he thought he could get away with it. That young man that neutralized the shooter is truly a Hero in my book. God bless him!

The civilian that saved lives should file a class action lawsuit against the business owners of the gun free zone for not providing adequate security for the mall. Every murder or attempted murder that happens in gun free zones should see politicians and lawmakers held accountable for endangering the public.

For my fellow Virginians: “No Firearm” signs in Virginia have no force of law unless they are posted on property that is specifically mentioned in State Law as being off limits to those with a Permit/License to Carry.

The fact the defender was “lawfully” armed is 1000% irrelevant in the course of the good deed he committed. Authority is the most dangerous superstition.

I literally haven't been to that mall in 13 years. Unfortunately I was in there 2 hours before. I looked at my kid and said this place is full of weirdos were leaving and I'm never coming back. Thank you Brain!!!!

Flying to Chicago this week for a friend's wedding. I hate that I won't be able to bring my gun and spare mags, but my friend told me that he and his bride will be conceal carrying, even though both their families are anti-gun. It was a real challenge to find a way to conceal a handgun in a wedding dress, but apparently they're going old-school with a garter holster. Ain't no way he's letting his wedding be a soft target. Wish I could back him up. Not that we're expecting any problems, but the people in that Indiana mall weren't expecting any problems, either.

We frequent the Greenwood Park Mall and this is the same entrance we use EVERY time. It's a shame that some media outlets are more focused on the HERO carrying in a gun-free zone.

I’m proud of that young man. He fired off 10 shots (in 15 seconds ) at 40 yards propped against a pole and hit the shooter and no one else. Big props to that young man.

*Update* on this situation. I live in Indy and the Police Chief of Greenwood (suburb of Indianapolis) The office just made an update. The threat was actually neutralized within 5 Seconds, not several minutes as we previously state.... so this was killer was able to kill 4 in 5 seconds. The defender was able to neutralize threat immediately ( 5 seconds) this update to the story just came out about 4:15 pm EST. So.. this guy was a true hero...

So happy that this young man was there to stop the threat, by doing so he definitely save lives in the process...He is so much more than a hero, he has a heart for his fellow man and woman.....! Crazy you have just one man who actually was a responsible license gun owner with the courage to step in and do the right thing... And 370 plus police officers can't make a conscious decision to enter a classroom to save children while shots are being fired, wow really...... 😳

Absolute Truth, Kevin! It really disturbs me, though, some in the media are criticizing the cop for referring to this guy as a Good Samaritan. To the best of my knowledge, one who Saves Lives is ALWAYS a Good Samaritan ‼️ My hat is off to this young hero. You, sir, are a man among men.

Unfortunately even after Bruen, NYC is still dragging their feet with issuing licenses. I applied for my premise permit in 2020 and I still haven't even gotten called for my interview yet. They said to now expect 2 YEARS to process premises handgun permits....no carry, just home defense and practicing at the range. 2 freaking years for that! So where exactly is the $340 fee they collect going, again?

And after the threat has been neutralized, holster your firearm so you're not accidentally shot by responding law enforcement or another citizen.

I've heard that it was 10 braced shots of 40 yards, if true that's some pretty incredible pistol shooting for a high stress situation.

Here in North Carolina we have to follow the GUN FREE signs if I’m not mistaken. Always makes me uncomfortable in malls.

An Auto Parts shop in a town near by had a no carry sign and I talked the own in to armed persons welcomed in his business sign. In WI

I live in New York and I was told I can't carry my gun into ANY establishment that doesn't have a sign saying I can carry in that place. It's almost pointless having a CCW permit since I can only have it in my car or house. Can't even go to a park with a gun anymore. At least that's what was told to me by a police officer. I can't even get your insurance in my state.

I’m really glad that there was a responsible gun owner around that was able to handle his business. I’m troubled that more of my fellow Americans choose to not exercise their 2nd amendment rights. Too many people expect someone else to take care of problems for them, instead of taking the time to learn how to solve themselves. This is both the greatest country in the world for out freedoms and rights and the saddest country for the masses that would rather be a sheep regardless.

About time that a responsible Citizen was in the right place to neutralize a threat preventing the loss of precious lives. The element of surprise is at least 50% of the battle. Why carry a sidearm if You're not ready to use it?. Maybe now people can begin to understand that We're not a danger to them and that a firearm in the right hands can really be of help. Good job!.

On Sunday July 17, 2022, the notorious mass shooter at the Greenwood Park Mall in Indiana was 20 year old miscreant Jonathan Douglas Sapirman who was firing his Sig Sauer Model M400 5.56mm caliber Rifle. Sapierman's shooting rampage was soon stopped within two minutes when he was killed from being shot with a pistol by Good Samaritan Hero courageous 22 year old Elisjsha Dean Dicken who single-handedly prevented additional innocent victims from being killed or injured. On Sunday December 29, 2019 at the West Freeway Church of Christ in White Settlement, Texas, there was also a notorious shooting attack by 43-year old felon Keith Thomas Kinnunen who used a shotgun to murder two church members Anton Wallace, age 64, and Richard White, age 67. Then heroic church member 71-year-old Jack Wilson promptly shot and killed Kinnunen with a single shot to the murderer's head from Wilson's pistol as Jack Wilson saved others from being shot or killed.

Events like this are a gun grabbers nightmare. I'm surprised the mainstream media reported any details about this incident at all.

I live in Florida and we have to honor the "No guns" signs on business. I was taught in my concealed carry class, if I see a "No Guns" sign on the Walmart main entrance, make sure I enter through a different place like the Garden Center that doesn't have the same sign. 😃

There are very few reasons where I will not carry my EDC. Government, state, and federal buildings. I will not carry. Everywhere else it is with me. My wife and I went to our 35th anniversary dinner just yesterday and she asked me if I was going to bring my weapon. The answer was of course there is not a force on earth that would come between her and I or the public at large. We saw this post . Then I didn't not need to explain any further. Well done sir we commend you. I feel so horrible for those that lost there lives. This is the very reason the public at large needs to understand we don't carry to harm. We carry to defend. We are not criminals. This message goes to criminals at large we will defend ourselves and fellow citizens. No More!!!

The only thing I’d add to this video is to be aware of your surroundings and double check for multiple shooters. There’s this video of 2 shooters walking into a Wal Mart and a conceal carry customer went to engage them. He didn’t realize there were 2 shooters and was shot point blank in the head by the shooter who had the element of surprise.

A well regulated militia necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. In this situation that young man that stood up to defend himself and others was the militia of the people. This happened just 25 minutes from my home. I can't cc at work because it is a hospital. If I have to go somewhere after work my firearm goes on me. On my days off my firearm goes on as I get dressed.

Indiana resident here. Seen people saying that if he had missed an hit civilians then he wouldn’t be a hero. An the thing is, he didn’t miss. He was trained with that firearm. He eliminated that threat. California Texas Chicago, they have high death rates. California has the strictest gun laws. Yet most deaths. Wake tf up people gun laws don’t stop criminals.
