The European Union on Friday pledged a 270-million-euro ($290-million) financial package for Armenia, seeking along with Washington to boost ties with Yerevan as its relations with Russia crumble. Amid talks aimed at ramping up cooperation between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, FRANCE 24's William Hilderbrandt is joined by Roland Freudenstein, Director of the Brussels Office of the Free Russia Foundation and Senior Associate Fellow at GLOBSEC.

What are you talking about? 12.5% GDP growth for one year does not mean booming economy. Armenia should ask Russia for help cause you know you cannot just pick and choose sides as you wish. Armenia has nothing to offer, they are just mad Russia let the Azerbaijan roll through lol.

@@nickpacal8418 12.5% GDP is massive, and it's been growing on a yearly basis, rather consistently. "Armenia has nothing to offer." Copper, molybdenum, gold? The water in Armenia is considered one of the purest in the world. 1⁄6 of Armenia's territory is fresh water. Most importantly, *location.* There's a reason the second largest US embassy in the world is located in Armenia.

The only reason Armenia has anything to negotiate for is because the Russians prevented the Azeris from taking everything. Armenia should first sign bilateral defense agreements like Finland did before joining NATO in order to prevent any vacuum, otherwise it would be a suicidal blunder.
