The Janissary by Alibow. Impressive!
Their new version of the Turkish bow is fantastic and has almost nothing to do with the old model,
BUT a lot from the shooting experience with the Kheshig!

I enjoyed again your testing and teasing with the tonky sound bow, nice 'swave' curves. I don't know the KHESHIG feel but this time I disagree with you on the looks, very similar to an Assyrian bow. 😉. Assyrian bow is part of my dream list and Jannisary fits it all, specially free shipping and your discount. Maraming Salamat Armin for teasing and also to Li Zhang for the innovation.

I don't know when the older version of the Turkish bow you showed was made so this may have been the case for a while already, but I received one of them a couple of days ago and they seem to have somewhat updated its design since. It no longer has the ray skin on the arrow rest and instead has that little round white section the Janissary has and it now has the same smoother wrapping around the handle. The colour sheme on the handle and the string rests also seem to have changed to the colours shown on the Janissary. Thanks for the video, cheers!

It's a pretty little bow. Seems like a sweet beginners bow. I wish a company like Alibow who makes some of the longest draw bows on the market, would use a design in it's Turkish bow that they would warranty up to 32". Other bow makers are pulling it off quite easily. This is the only downfall I see of this sweet little bow. Handle section reminds me of the Chu bow you have. Thanks for another great review my friend, it's really appreciated!

Great video! Just bought the Turkish from Alibow (probably the same one, 1.12 meters length short version and in 'glowing' crimson red) 2 days ago and had my first try today. This is such a great bow and it is pleasant to shoot. The drawing is stiff but smooth at the same time. And I was kidda impressed that this beast, with such small statue, can actually handle 500 spine FMJs and my old arrow with relatively high fly speed and accuracy. Now I may have to put that DunHuang bow on my already too long archery shopping list lol

Another bow on the ‘to buy’ list. Damn, it’s getting longer every week. Also thanks for your call to reduce plastic waste, Armin. You’re absolutely right! That said, I’d like to add that there should be an alternative to ‘ray skin’. Assuming that it’s real ray skin, and not shark skin (feels and looks the same): sharks and rays are increasingly endangered all over the world. And China is a major reason that that. Perhaps Alibow is where some of that ends up, and it needs to stop.
@kingsgambit
@kingsgambit 2 жыл бұрын
I recently wrote Alibow about this, you can request alternative leather instead of ray skin for the arrow pass. However, I agree that they should stop using this. Pressure and demand by us customers might help! I also talked with Simon from Simons Bow Company about this, he agreed as well.

i have a question: so we all know with these symetrical bows the top limb is more under stress then the bottom limb and when i pull the bow to max draw could it be that the top limb goes over the max draw because of increased stress ? or do bow builders build the top one a bit weaker in generel like olympic archers tiller their top one ?

What I like in the bows, is the force he developed ; the accuracy depends about the arrows, long feathers means that the fly is longer, so the range is much more further. The English Longbow for me is one of the best, 300 meters is the maximum range of fire he can get.

Hi Chandra, A few years ago I spent a long time tuning arrows to my 55lb bow. Spine and balance point and overall weight and tip weight etc. I shot through paper a lot to achieve an arrow that was done wobbling at 3 yards. When I finished I could smoothly shoot a bare shaft with 150grain field point at 40yds - the longest distance I had on my range. Never shoot a broadhead on a bare shaft, the blades are like feathers on the front end and it can fly anywhere. I found that a heavier field point would easily shoot well, but it had too much drop. Your release has more effect than that type of fine tuning. Your grip, body dynamics and release need to be repeatable, those are more important. Look at Armin, with his skills and khatra he seems almost beyond spine problems.

Platsic helps with the moisture. After 8 months in a damp cardboard box, your bow would be badly damaged in the worst case
@ArminHirmer
@ArminHirmer 4 жыл бұрын
I mean the bubble wrap, the bow is still in a plastic sleeve
@grinninggoat5369
@grinninggoat5369 3 жыл бұрын
Plastic will help if submerged shortly in water or heavy rain but, unless plastic sleeve and bubble wrap is sealed very well then 8 months of water vapor, changing temps/humidity and moisture will get inside a plastic bag too just to condense if temp drops below dew point. At least cardboard can dry out much faster than inside a plastic bag when humidity drops because it is more permeable to both moisture's &/or water vapor's ingress & egress. Plastic only prevents water ingress/ egress if fully sealed and still then, moisture egress once inside is just as slow as moisture ingress when not fully sealed to either. Put a piece of carbon steel in a plastic bag and just roll/fold it shut, then set it inside a non-temperature regulated garage or barn to simulate package carrier transport through varying climates and you'll have more of a bag of rust after 8 months of seasonal change than if you just wrapped it in cardboard padding. Lightly waxed cardboard could be a best of both worlds solution. Giving some moisture protection, ability to dry out if moisture enters, more rigid than just cardboard when wet and totally biodegradable. Also, any wax that rubs off the cardboard onto contents inside is a further protective barrier to organic material moisture damage, laminate separation if freeze/thaw cycle occurs and/or rust damage of metallic parts. Then again, perhaps a waxed bow & string with regular cardboard would solve any moisture issues with contents. Less petrochemicals are needed to make a synthetic wax than a synthetic plastic as well. I have never received any sort of package that received, let alone was ruined, by water damage in transport around the world for long periods anyway, either with or without being wrapped in plastic. Usually, in my experience, package mail carriers put some effort into keeping their packages dry and mark them as damaged in transit before they ever arrived at my door for any reason, moisture damaged or otherwise, so that I can have the sender quickly send a replacement. Maybe not many people share my experiences with mail carriers but moisture damage is never very high on my list of concerns when wondering what might happen to destroy my packages in transit anyway, they always seem to arrive dry no matter if plastic is used or not inside the box.

Alibow güzel yay yapıyor fakat yeniçeri veya osmanlı yayların genel özelliği lale görüntüsü almasıdır.ilk çıkan alibow yaylarından sonra bu görüntüsü kaybolmaktadır. Alibow buna çalışması lazım
