He frees the prisoners from their handcuffs and then they take the parachutes on the plane, open the door and jump out. And the plane loses control and speed and crashes near the city
The prisoners open their parachutes and land near the farmhouse. They need to get to their destination, but doing it on foot will be a long task. They decide to get the farmer's car.
