Bruce, the light you pointed to on the front of the backhoe is a blackout drive light. On the back you have regular service lights in the red lenses and below in the same housing is the blackout drive markers, and blackout brakes. They are white or opaque. Merry Christmas

The lights are on the right on the hmmwv light switch, you have to push the bottom right switch up to push the top lever to the right to turn the lights on

That's a nice backhoe. Most people don't understand how strong that machine is. It will surprise you for sure. Wish I had the money to buy that one, but I don't need it.

Here's how you operate the military light switch. If you want to turn the regular lights on, lift the bottom right lever while turning the top lever to the right. I'm not sure how this is wired but the first click should enable the brake lights, turn signals, and horn. It might enable the work lights or you might have to turn it to the second click. The lever locks those out to prevent accidentally turning your lights on in a combat blackout situation. The center position disables all lights for a blackout. Turning the top lever to the left one click will enable the blackout marker lights. Those are little slit lights in the military-style taillights and below the front turn signals that can only be seen a few feet away. Lifting the lock lever will allow you to turn the top lever one more click to turn on the blackout drive light, that hooded light to the left of the windshield. It projects a dim beam just enough to see the truck in front of you (in theory) or a spotter walking alongside without being directly visible. The bottom left lever lets you select dim or bright gauge lighting or turn on the parking lights if the main lever is in one of the two right positions. Cool rig and a rare find for sure.

Worked at Deere we built a loader for the dept of the Navy,actually 2 had armored cabs the doors were 3200lbs. each the cabs had a concussion space underneath so ied wouldn't get to the driver,had burst plates and a bunch of cool stuff. They went away,and a year later they sent us a video we're they blew them up to test them for combat,it passed thier test.we all went back to work silently,but with a lot of pride.

I had armored equipment in the military and that isn't really built to a spec I would be comfortable with. Maybe some small arms calibers lol At distance.. just looks like sheet metal and half inch glass panels.. Humvee armor was thick glass and heavy steal doors etc.. Hard to beat a case 580, the K and L models are my favorite, they had the 4B (or 4BT optional) Cummins engine and were about bulletproof. The new ones have some kind of fiat designed emissions junk engine in them but the machines themselves are still great.

Adjust the clutch fingers before putting the Kubota tractor back together. There is an adjustment somewhere on the pressure plate
