Move over 2B, there's a new best robot BU/TT in town! IBIS' tendency to run away after you land anything makes this fight reallllllly annoying, given that most of your damage output is a melee weapon on the starter AC.

It gets easy if you pour 5-6 hours into it 😂 I did this video from the "replay mission" menu, but if you watch my full run, it only took me 2 attempts there.

I really like the combat loop with kicks and using Assault Armor to burn through shields or set up for punishes, so I used them. That's about all there is to it. If that makes the run not legitimate for you, no biggie! I'm super excited to see better players do it without kicks and assault armor, because believe me, they're out there. Frankly I think removing "options" like those would make it not only infinitely more boring to watch, but infinitely more boring to *play*, so whatever, keep the OS tuning. At least SOME of them feel like they should be baseline features anyway

@@ThomasAtlus at the very least, the kick seems like a super basic feature that shouldn't be locked behind OS tuning, but I guess it's not THAT big a deal. IMO the biggest problem with OS Tuning is how drastically it increases your survivability. 6000 more net AP (3 heal charges times 2000 extra AP per heal) and 15% less damage is a LOT of durability! It's like a whole extra health bar's worth!

I think you'd really have to be a true massacist to try and take on this fight with no OS tuning at all so I don't really blame you. Trying to kill this boss with melee at all is kinda pain. Fortunately the 4cell missiles stack up stagger decently.

Wow this is pretty awesome. You didn't even equip a second shoulder weapon. The LOADER 4 is a decent all-rounder, but besides the Pulse Blade it's using decidedly inferior parts. It takes an extremely skilled pilot to pull something like this off.

The rifle is actually really good. And those missiles are some of the best you can put for 1v1 fights as they have the best tracking and reload hella fast

The weapons can't really be said being bad, but yeah, the inner parts are practically the worst of their kind with only the fact they are lightweight as hell being their call to fame, and the body parts are relatively low quality to a degree, especially the head.

crazy run! you hardly reach red meter when quick boosting to dodge and only during all-ins to punish the boss. your stamina management is so good. to the point i still can't believe you did it with the starter boosters and generators.

The combat flow in this game is really really good. I hope they adjust some of the difficulty spikes like Balteus in a future dlc or sequel! If this game has a "For Answer" moment where it gets a sequel that builds on it in a brilliant way it will be amazing.

Yeah Loader 4 has kinda given me Stockholm Syndrome. I like the gun for clearing MTs, helicopters, etc, and it functions well against many bosses by keeping the stagger bar filled in between kicks and blade hits. But overall, man Loader 4 suffers with damage output.

Holy shit... WOW... I struggled MASSIVELY with this boss. It was the only one that I wanted to rage quit (pretty much did but came back), pull out my hair, try & use countless builds, etc. Yet you use the starter AC. Mad respect. I finally beat the game. It's actually pretty easy after this boss. Carla took 2 tries & Snail took maybe 5-6 tries. Walter was a joke. Only took 2 tries cause I was too aggressive the 1st time.

I got stuck on this one for a bit too, until I said "fuck it" and went full on stagger build with pile bunker. Put all the heavy weapons in a tank, songbirds and the like, and I would just wait until it stops dodging, instant stagger break and more than half of it's HP gone in an instant. Just kept a minigun to keep the stagger from resetting.

Right now I'm finishing up Ch5, and Arquebus Balteus is kicking my ass. Holy frick he has SO MUCH HP and SO MUCH SHIELD and even his chip damage attacks do SO MUCH DAMAGE 😂 I'm gonna be grinding this for *hours*.

a good use of fundamentals... but it really feels like the starting gun is not great, the missiles and kicks kept the pressure for stagger, while the sword was your triumph card, but i barely see the impact of the gun, not even good stagger build up, and it misses a lot. in any case it really make it more impressive that you managed to pull this win, good work 621.

actually based that the starting ac qb range is perfectly so that it doesnt have to qb again when to uses the moonlight greatsword double hit, and even if it wasnt im just gonna assume from accounted for it and made it like that since the delay on the default boosters is rlly long

Like uh, another example is that your assault boost is JUST fast enough to follow up a sword blowback with an assault boost kick. Like right at the start, you can go AA for the stagger, quickboost into sword hits, then chase it down to finish the punish with an assault boost kick. But the timing is like microscopically tight!

(Yellow Line lul) Im still lost at the first part.. usually when fighting it and im not even a lightweight the kick sends the boss back and they recover even if you fly at them - but you just flew over and hit them again?? The timing window for getting a second kick after ibis gets slapped backwards is realllllly tight, you basically have to kick as early as you possibly think you can to land it!

I need a 1.01 patch installation, and a current update patch installation. When I played 1.01... the difficulty was quite frankly legendary. I tried this! I ended up getting it after about 20-30 attempts! I didn't used any expansions tho cuz I felt it was changing the build and I wanted to use the ac they give you in the first mission with no changes, the hardest thing about it is HOW BAD the first generator is, it gives you little room for error. All in all it was really fun tho I do recommend trying it if you're lookin for very good fair challenge!

The thing with Ibis is that it's fast and powerful but also squishy; a glass cannon. With how much the boss is doing to disorient you, firing a barrage of lasers and flying in bug-like movement patterns, the right timing for attack and evasion is hard to find when fighting for the first time. Although I have to say, and I'm going to piss off a lot of people by saying this, these qualities are what Malenia from Elden Ring should have had. While one boss is mandatory and the other is a hidden challenge boss, the amount of health that Malenia had was unnecessary when she can already punish the player for bad timing through health drain and high damage. Ibis is similar in that if you don't keep up with the boss' attack patterns that it will leave you staggered and blasted with high amounts of damage.

LOL yeah, I think people overestimated the difficulty because of the lack of s to dodge stuff. It's no Sekiro which both SEEMS really hard and IS insanely hard, but it's not the easiest game either.

Hilariously i can now do this without assault armor but that's been done so many times I don't even think it's a big deal anymore.

What, you think it's faked lol? I would need some REALLY good speed control to magically keep my boost speed at 306 constantly haha. I get if you don't find it legitimate because of assault armor and boost kicks, but scrutinize all the details you want and you'll see that it's the starter AC frame and weapons with no changes at all. Time the generator charge speed, watch the ground boost and assault boost speed, check the melee speed and lock on rate. It'll all check out.
