A place for ravens to rest or a place where they were used as pawn in an cruel game of chess. This is the history of the famous Ravens Nest.

I found it so interesting that Chrome operated Ravens Nest, does that mean Chrome once had sole control over Armored Cores and Ravens? I always assumed Nineball controlled all three behind the scenes.

Ah see this is the issue when translations come out. My theory is that Since Hustler one claims to have created them all, it is possible that the federation of corporations already had Chrome in it but not by that name, leading to hustler one helping them grow by allowing this unknown company at the time to control the nest while it dealt with the federation which may have become a threat to humanity.

Ah yes, the issue with that AI is that AC3 was a reboot of the series. It got its own timeline from 3 till last raven and so the lines are cut as one like the other, but not the same. The only wrench in all of this is the last foe of nexus that gets labelled as nine ball.

@@armoredcorelore I feel the controller just copied Nineball's test answers in class and failed the test because all the answers were wrong lol. Nineball and controller had allot in common. For instance The controller in silent line ALSO hid behind a fake identity "Sera Cross" a woman working for the AIO company. The controller also manipulated the companies into fighting each other. The controller made OP unmanned *Annoying* AC's to get in peoples way but never expected the player around the corner at all times. Lol I just assumed they were the same because the plans was so similar.

@@armoredcorelore The final enemy of Nexus was simply localized as Nine-Ball to be an homage to it, from what I've read. In the original, it was just the Prototype Pulverizer. Same with the one encountered in Nine-Breaker. AC3's timeline clearly has little to no connection to what came before, similarities and homages aside.

You know, I always consider Armoured Core 1 & Master Of Arena taking place in the same time in different locations and the ending slide for the first game shows that after he destroy the AI in the Raven's Nest HQ, Humanity is plunged into a new Dark Age. My theory is that the reason there are different ranking and such is the fact that it takes place in different locations which explains why the ranking system is different per game. It also explains why in Master Of Arena, Chrome seems to be somewhat still be in operations due to them hiring a Raven to protect their HQ. It also explains the reason why all the Raven's Nest and other networks linked to nine-ball collapsed after the defeat of Seraph. It simply doesn't make sense for why defeating an upgraded model knocked out most if not all operations in the underground cities unless if you also took account of the Nine-Ball destruction ending in Armoured Core 1 which would have happened in the same time as Nine-Ball was trying to eliminate them both.

Now we get into the awesome stuff. AC4 is good and all, but the OG timeline series of games is where it's at. We need more channels talking about how this series started it all and why it is the benchmark of everything that came after it and is influenced by it. So happy you made a video on this. Definitely loved it. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

@armoredcorelore
@armoredcorelore Жыл бұрын
Thank you as to answer your question. All i have to go off for now is the timeline presented to us in the book armored core 10 complete works which reads that in ED 0158: Chrome and Murakumo collapse at the end of their warring. The Ravens' Nest becomes defunct at the same time. These events are shown in the first Armored Core and in Armored Core: Master of Arena. A conflict among the smaller corporations ensues in what is called the "Deep Earth War" ED 0186: The end of the Deep Earth War leaves the underground world exhausted. Humanity begins returning to the surface when it shows signs of recovery from the Great Destruction. ED 0187: The Underground World Ceasefire Committee (地下世界停戦委員会) is formed, leading to the ratification of the "Isaac Treaty" that finally ends the Deep Earth War.

Kinda off topic but it's creepy that in Armored core 2 AA there's a left over Nineball roaming around just killing Ravens. I suspected the government knew about that because immediately after you complete the story mode you unlock an area called *Lost Field* then they ask you to destroy several dangerous unmanned weapons, the last one being Nineball Sereph. Makes me wonder WHO created Nineball in the first place.
@armoredcorelore

@foenrik8941

Well done. Thanks for clearing some things up timeline wise as well. The games never explain that this is all happening at the same time. At first I thought they just happened in chronological order from each other, but that would beg the question why no one noticed Nine-Ball was gone for a while only to come back later, or why the Nest kept functioning after R's "death", backups aside. Other ideas I had heard/read explained Master of Arena as a retelling of AC1, but that doesn't work because Chrome and Murakumo would be back, and they're not. An obscure comment also suggested the Raven from Master of Arena was the child of Sunika and the Raven of AC1 who went through Project Phantasma, which while plausible has no support from any sources either. In the end, it all happening roughly around the same time works best, though it'd have been nice if they made that clear at all in the games.
@armoredcorelore
@armoredcorelore Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment and yes it would have been nice and a lot of players would have been able to put it all together if they had done. Ah phatasma is a bit of an odd ball really as you can see why the child theory is more likely, but as you say there really is not enough to make it concrete and i'll be honest i don't think this is the case. From what i read and played i'm more than willing to say what we have is two separate ravens who's goals lead them both to ending the AI that controlled the world.

Here's something to ponder: with the ambush of Boss Savage after you mop up the Chrome remnants, it's likely he was acting under orders of the AI (proto-Controller/Hustler 1 AI). How many people in-universe knew Hustler One's secret? In AC1 I'm sure everybody playing for the first time was surprised by the giant computer waiting for you at the end. (Some of us were also VERY aggravated when we got to that point without a blade equipped and the only ammo we had left was missiles - you couldn't lock onto the computer and would have to restart the mission.)
@armoredcorelore
@armoredcorelore Жыл бұрын
(Oh i know that feeling.) Ah see this is a ponder as in nexus we see Boss being more against the corporations, so if i was putting on my theory head. I would say hustler one simply used this hate against Boss, another puppet he feeds information too as R about this raven trying to make a single corporation powerful.

Hey just found your channel pretty recently. Still going through the older videos and it's good to see that you're checking out the older games. I've noticed you read and respond to comments fairly often. I have a request but it is not one that you'll probably be able to accept anytime soon as you'd to go through multiple Armored Core games. There's a couple terms that comes up, one is a Ninebreaker. I think most fans of the Armored Core series are pretty familiar with it, at least the ones who started before the 4th generation. However there is another term that comes up much less frequently, a *Dominant.* As you play through the series, if you finish playing through the series, can you keep an eye out for that term coming up and keep track of who and want *Dominants* are. It might not have come up yet and sorry if it's a bit of a spoiler but I wanted to make sure I asked you before I forgot.

So, as I explained in Armored Core 6 after beating nightfall Ayre says raven isn’t a individual call sign it’s a title passed down for many generations champion the name raven so dose that mean like the dark raven from armored core 5 and player raven from gen 3
@armoredcorelore
@armoredcorelore 9 ай бұрын
I would say not, dark raven was give this name because when he gets talked about in acvd we can see the general view on mercs is that they are greedy people only in it for the money an idea shared in native American tribes myology that while ravens can be cunning and wise heroes, their weakness is being glutton. I can take a guess this is where the name came from as people see the dark raven as a hero but being a merc he also got the raven name too. And i guess to other he was also very bad luck as everything he touched burned. In ac3 all mercs that worked for global cortex are known as ravens as its what these mercs are known as. You could say its a title, but i think its more the as the same with the idea with dark raven, mercenaries are seen as greedy and no loyalty to anyone other themselves.

interesting!!!! but theres alot of evidence that AC1 and AC Project phantasma take place around same timeline. So the main player of AC 1 could be the player in MOA
@armoredcorelore
@armoredcorelore Жыл бұрын
Well Thank you and they could. Yet with what we know AC1, Project Phantasma along with master of area all share the same timeline. The issue faced with this game of who's who is both ac1 and acmoa seem to run in parallel thanks to Chrome still being around at the time of arena. This seems to suggest either chrome has not fallen which it would do soon after the murakumo's defeat and in turn if Murakumo had won the war then there would be no chrome. So either mofa is telling us that chrome won the war and is still there, but barely before it collapses along with raven's nest. Or mofa is another story about another raven who's goal of revenge is just another part of the AI's fall while the events of AC1 and phantasma play out. But again, I'm not shooting down ideas here in fact i only encourage research and investigation into ideas like this and if you find anything come talk to me again. A good AC chit-chat and a cup of tea is something i am always up for.
@GanstaHippo

@@armoredcorelore same 🤗 love to talk about AC with you! Make a channel discord??? Yeah the reason for my train of thought is exactly that weird detail that one of the companies is still “alive” . Therefore it feeeels like MoA takes place in same time line and during the same time (generally speaking) as the first game. Because In universe, there was only one person to get the title of nine breaker ;) it’s exiting stuff. I’ve been researching to make videos too 🥹
