As a Liverpool fan my money is on a Left footed CB, VVD can play either side and some would say he looks better on the right side but Liverpool have no one that can cover the left....... So if LFC go big on a defender i would say it's a safe bet to say it will be a left footer. That is a priority imho......... If there is one thing i know from how Edwards operated last time at the club, there will be nothing coming out of the club (no leaks) until a deal is done.

I think the priority in defence is not a cb, he needs a left back, who actually joins to be a third centre back in attack. Robertson is not that type of player, he rather joins the attack, but leaves space behind. As I know Slot’s football, he plays 3241 in attacks, so he needs someone like that. I also think there’s enough dept in cb role, Van Dijk, Konate, Quansah and Joe Gomez can play as a cb as well. Maybe I’m wrong, but that’s my opinion. On the other hand I agree, a first team quality cdm is needed.

One thing we need in a LCB with the way we play is someone who is a good passer like Van Dijk. Slot also plays out from the back, so passing ability in our CB cant go overrated.

Liverpool might want Gordon, but it was Newcastle who came to Liverpool to see if they were interested. This was before they sorted out their financial issues. But when Newcastle mentioned they wanted Quansah as part of the deal, Liverpool just walked away and the conversation was over. Gordon right now is a luxury transfer. We have Diaz there, Gakpo might prefer to play on the left. Nunez and Jota can start there as well. It's clear we need to get rid of 1, maybe even 2 players there. Wouldn't be surprised to see Diaz go to PSG this summer.

What are your thoughts about Ferdi Kadioglu, Alice? Wouldn't he make more than a great replacement for Andy R on the LFC left line? He's so versatile that he could be used in a few different positions when LFC need to fill a hole, but I see him as a true defensive talisman on the left side. He's more than proven that at the 2024 Euros.

We all know need a new an understudy for Mo and potential replacement central defender, a long term for Robertson, a physical fast athletic midfielder, likelihood won't sign any of those type of players, Like we've been needing for the last four seasons, Would be lucky to get top 4 with this current crop of players

Although LFC finished third in GF in 2023/24, I am uneasy about our forward line. Nunez misses chances, Gakpo was played out of position, and Salah ain't getting any younger. Jota is injury-prone, and Diaz is inconsistent. I think LFC is strong in defence and midfield. I want a dynamic, goal-scoring centre-forward. (Ian St John, Kevin Keegan, Kenny Dalglish, Ian Rush, Fernando Torres, Luis Suarez ... you know, someone like that.)

Food for Thought for Slot!! Slot comes in to continue on a journey, klopp left behind. If it was promising, and yielding results etc, klopp wouldn't hide or tell, that he was tired etc!! The reverse is true!! So Slot should think and he comes with fresh legs to help lift his career etc to the level that will catch the supporters/fans brains etc. The current team was and is good for the past , but it's not good enough to compete this season. Yes it can influence, here and there, but the truth is that the legs are tired!!! Number 3 needs a clinical redress, Number 4, the Midfield needs a player, the striking line also needs a striker with a purpose!! Don't ask me which purpose etc. This if added on our ever sick , players etc, it will help.

Gakpo is never a 10 in a million years. Good player but LW is best role, if not, CF. He hasn't the passing technique or quick thinking/decisions required for a 10, nor has Szobo. Of current players, best 10 would be from Elliott, Mac, Salah or Jota. Former 2 would be long-term solutions, Mo or Jota would be short-term solutions only.
