I’ve been crocheting for years and know my stitches but last time I wasn’t even sure what you were doing you we going so fast! 😳…..Thanks for slowing down this time Arne… it was much easier to follow you! 😊….the camera angle seemed to be much better as well….after all we are here to watch what you are doing not necessarily to see you both from frontal view although we do love seeing both of you 😏 BTW using the the speed adjustment is annoying because when you slow it down, it not only slows down the video but the dialogue…I don’t say this to be critical but for awareness……..in any case This was fun! Thank you!

Love the dove. I particularly love all the knitted squares with birds. My patch collection consists mainly of flowers and birds. I have to watch with the subtitles because they are so hilarious. I imagine they are computer generated. Today's most amusing is the prize 'knitting meal' not 'mill'. Last episode couldn't cope with Faroese and described the knitted square as being inspired by Fairy's knitting.

I am having so much fun with this CAL. I'm using yarn my Mum gave me when she became too ill to knit or crochet. I'm also doing the flowers while I'm sitting with her, she loves looking at the flowers and the bright colours. Thank you so much it is giving her an interest even though she can't make them herself. It's very relaxing listening to Arne explain what to do and crocheting along. Thanks to you both 💕

Well done, again, A&C! Thank you for doing this. I learned to knit and crochet from my mother and her neighborhood friends who had a lovely knitting club. There is one member left who is now 91 years young and favors knitting. She is Scandinavian descent and uses the old Norwegian method. She didn’t know this until I learned it from you guys and shared it with her! However, my Mom used a continental method which of course I used UNTIL I met you. As I watch Arne use his skills and listen to Carlos’s encouraging words, I have picked up efficient and smooth operating skills that have brought new JOY into creating knitting and crocheting projects to use and share with others.

Hi. I knit but I've always wanted to learn how to crochet. I just want to say thank you both for the spring along videos......I can crochet a chain but I never knew how to do anything else and I've always wanted to make granny squares. I'm halfway through knitting a cardigan for my husband so I must get that finished before I venture onto something else. I have saved your videos and I WILL be making granny squares. You make them look so easy and my brain......finally .......understands how to do them now. I'm so grateful. Thank you both xx

I don't put my finger up when I crochet, either! I'm also a self-taught crocheter (when I was a kid). I started crochet after I learned to knit, so I hold the yarn over my left index finger and wrap it, similar to when you knit with the yarn in your left hand. It's the only way I can do it!

I love these scrappy projects but am not always sure what scraps I can use with what, ie some double knits seem finer than others and some scraps I can’t tell what they are, a tutorial on how to tell what ply a wool is and how to mix and match oddies that are different thicknesses could be really useful, and maybe also covering the different descriptions , grades - especially as we are now able to access international supplies so readily.

I’m an experienced knitter with minimal crocheting experience and decided to use the CAL to learn. Thank you for slowing down in this episode - it was much easier for me to follow. I do have one request: next time could you show how you join in your new yarn with single crochet? Your hands moved so quickly that I couldn’t follow. The reference books I have only show how to do it if you still have a chain of the previous color on your hook and are crocheting into the next chain rather than around it. Do you put a slip knot on the hook (didn’t see you do that)?

A question for you just so I make sure I am doing it correctly. Once you do the first group of stitches and go through the four stitches and then chain four you go to the next group of stitches. Once you do all the stitches there are you bringing the yarn back through five stitches because you had one left on the hook from the first group of stitches? Hoping I understand correctly?

Oops - I jumped ahead and didn’t gather my 2nd colour into clustered petals but I gathered them in the next row. It does sit flat after making the third colour row. I don’t mind my mistake as I’m learning by making. Love the peace dove patch. Very appropriate due to Ukraine. It is also by coincidence ANZAC Day here in Australia; where we remember the Australian and New Zealand participation in WWI & WWII and other wars since then where AU & NZ troops fought. I’ll make one for Ukraine with the flag colours in the background and one for ANZAC Day with a khaki background and white dove.
