You can see the difference in his 3/4 delivery when he wants to get a bigger break on his breaking stuff, his arm tends to be higher. This guy will be a great pitcher in the majors if they develop his talent correctly. Pitching in Cuba for the national team is a great start as well.

It seems that cuban pitchers keep adding velocity to their fastball after 20+ years old.. hes like 20 in this video and he throws about 106 now amd hes 25 i believe now. I am cuban and i throw 90 at 18 :)

being a big fan of cuban ball players i think it's funny how the media called this guy the ace of the Cuban National team. When in fact he wasn't. He did lead the Cuban National Series in Strikeouts... but his ERA was mid 4's against what would be equivalent to AAA ( or a notch about AAA competition)... Yunesky Maya, another defector has much better numbers and is more established as an "ace"..

obviously genetics play a part of it in chapman's case, but there is no limit to how hard anyone can throw... it's just a matter of how hard you work

if anyone is wondering where he gets his speed from, 1) good mechanics and 2) HIS LEGS ARE SO FUCKING LONG

He only really has nasty fastball the reason why hea special is because he pitches lefty other than that he has to prove himself he has no track record and he's now 21
