Heey party people! Thanks so much for hanging out with me while we kick off the new year and tidy up after the holidays, and set up for a new years eve celebration! I hope you enjoy tidying up with me too. In an effort to get my room in order I tidy up a bit and clean. Then I moved onto the kitchen and tidy out there, laundry is next, and then dinner. the day goes by so quickly but I hope you enjoy chatting with me while we tackle the day and tackle the tasks! cleaning, cooking dinner, and beyond!

First of all...Wolfgang is adorable! 2nd-I have been married 40 years, raised 6 children, homeschooled them for 26 years-they are all grown....and not ONE DAY have I missed the fingerprints, the toys, the tantrums etc...not one. I loved raising my children so much and was very engaged (we were the party house as well)-but having these years with my precious husband are so wonderful. Enjoy now, but the future is wonderful as well.

I so agree! I tend to overthink things but I’m thankful for the now! We never had regular date nights (not really a “thing “ back then!) so we are enjoying time together plus grown kids are fun in their own way!

You will miss it! I blinked and they were grown. Now it's my Grandkids. I had the pleasure of raising my Grandson that came when my daughter was 16 his first 5 years so she could go to college. He just started driving. When he drives to my house I say STOP my brain is not doing this, you will always be my baby boy💝

My husband and I raised 6 kids, took care of parents for years. Pete used to say," how did we do that?" I told him, I did all the work! When our youngest son moved out while we were on vacation he was so upset! I jumped for joy! I went from 11 or 12 loads of laundry a day to 4 or 5 a week!!!!

This is the most powerful thing you could say to a new mom or even an "old mom" (me). We have to remember that a lot of the big change trends and new habit routines are NOT meant for people in transition. And moms of little kids are in transition for YEARS in my opinion! You're so good at helping me feel normal and good enough!

Kim, i know you wont see this probably but I am a momma of 5 as well (plus an angel baby), my kiddos are growing up (16,18,20,22,23) and oh boy that quote is SO TRUE! I miss my kiddos NEEDING me like they used to, I miss the chaos and toys everywhere, the quote is so true. As hard as it is in the moment, try to treasure these years, before you know it they are grown :(

Did you know that to prevent a pot from boiling over, you're supposed to put a wodden spoon across the top of the pot, and when the water, or liquid you're boiling, touches the wood, it goes down? I saw it on a cooking hacks video. I tried it with rice, AND IT WORKED!

If no one has told you lately, you totally rock. Doing all the things you do and showing the challenge of managing your home with 5 kids is refreshing. I love your authenticity and want to give you all the kudos you deserve. Please continue giving yourself grace and as much as you can, whenever you can, if you can, try to take a few minutes for yourself by yourself. Being a good, present, decent and loving mom is one of the hardest things to navigate.

I want to say thank you! I’ve been watching for years and always hear your voice of encouragement. If I feel overwhelmed with chores I tell myself just do your best for 15 mins. I got upset after having to clean up after the kids for the billionth time and told myself it just needs a mothers touch and it helped changed my attitude toward the task. “What am I going to do with the rest of it” is a common phrase I say to myself when cooking! Thank you for pushing out the content even in your busiest seasons of life. It really means a lot to me and I’m thankful for you ❤

Yes you will miss them being little. Mine is 30 and I can't believe it. I am lucky though because he still spends time with us playing games, cooking together, dancing to favorite songs, visiting favorite places. Even his closest friends still come to visit and tell me how much they enjoyed all the sleep overs and days of fun at our house. Tell stories about me driving all of them to teenage events. It's the best when they are adults and still come see you and ask to do things with you that you did when they were young. It's going to happen to you too and it will bring you so much happiness.

I don't miss those times, we just have our grandkids over, and it's even better! The thing I love, is when our 4 adult "kids" get together, they talk about things we did when they were little! My husband and I just look at one another and say, They remember!

I got sick again with pneumonia after Christmas ... Went to my doctor the 29th ... Got shots and meds and fell asleep when I got home that afternoon and didn't wake up till yesterday morning ... So I missed new Year's ... My husband said he kept having to check on me to make sure I was still alive ... I don't remember a thing ...

Unfortunately my new Year was pretty sad. I went to the Emergency Vet with my cat. We needed to let her go yesterday on the second. She was not even two years old. Seeing her passing away was pretty devastating to me. It is so hard to cope and my heart just hurts so much. I miss her so much 💔

Hey Kim, the reason the cabinet under the stove is not working is because it needs a shelf so that you can stack things on the upper shelf. Your new Kitchen Aid will still fit there.

Love the KitchenAid color! You could build a shelf into the cabinet where it lives with the Instant Pot so the griddle can go up on the shelf! I did that in a huge cupboard I had and it made it SO much more usable. I just got those white wire shelves from Home Depot and the matching white triangle arms that mount on the back wall (into studs!) and it's great. If you don't have studs in good places like me, cut a 1x3 board to the length of the cabinet and screw that to the studs, then screw the shelf mounting arms to the board.

I just found out I have adhd, which helps me understand why I procrastinate and other goofy things I do . So I'm in the process of finding systems that work better for me in my brain instead of trying many traditional things and failing and beating up myself. I just thought procrastination was a character flaw of mine, but understanding where it comes from and reframing is very helpful and brings so much peace of mind.

Can I just say as a grandmother… I am heavily involved with my grand babies and it does “take a village”. I had babies young and had grand babies young (9) 4 of which live next door to me. I still feel like I’m in that “season”, I keep them while parents work and have since they were born and I am blessed to be a part of each milestone of their lives. So, long story short… as long as you are involved in their lives they will ALWAYS need you ☺️ nice part is when you need a break you send them home and when you’re ready again you call them back!

Recently heard someone say how fast time goes. You only have 18 summers with each child when you think about it. My children are all grown up and many of my grandchildren. We are expecting our first two great grandchildren in 2023. You do miss them, but each season has its own highlights. Just adjust and enjoy each one for what it is! Add a shelf to the cupboard under the stove to store your griddle on. Still plenty of room to store instant pot and kitchen aid below. Store the whisk, hook etc for your kitchen aid in the stainless steel bowl next to the mixer x

Haha the mini freak out about the laundry in the sink instead of the basket! Girl I feel you! Towels always piled up so I put a basket there. Now they pile elsewhere. It's like laundry baskets have repelling magnets for dirty items!

You had me laughing so hard when you thought your new Kitchen Aid looked smaller! I think it's the beautiful finish you chose! I have my grandma's Kitchen Aid that she purchased in the 1970's and it continues to work like a charm! All the attachments fit! It would be fun to have one of the lovely colors they've come out with.....but this one has so many memories! I look forward to every video you put out--you bring so much joy!

I think my biggest goal with each new baby was to get out of survival mode when I felt the itch. With each baby it was different and I tried to listen to my body and what my midwife said because it was so hard to not do everything when I was out of commission for a while. I loved that my babies nursed best in quiet because I needed that time as well. We have 5 now, who knows if we’ll have more (I’m getting older…) I’m trying to relish and enjoy the moments because my oldest is now 13 and the time really has flown when I wasn’t looking.

I've gotten 3 loads washed so far today at 230 pm and have at least 2 more to get done. I slacked over the last couple days so I gotta catch up before work tomorrow. School break ended so my kids went back to school today so I have been tidying my entire house one room at a time, not cleaning them, just tidying and putting things away. My house is about 1k square feet and a great size for us but I still definitely have to stay on top of it or it piles up really fast.

I think you need another shelf in the cabinet where the kitchenaid is. That way you can store the "flat" items for easier access

I love Kitchenaid mixers!! I have a regular size pink one, but got a refurbished mint 6qt for Christmas!! Your new one is so beautiful, and you have gobs of counter space, why not leave it out? It’s like jewelry for your kitchen that works on demand. When I got my first one back in ‘91, I used it almost every day for a year!! Couldn’t wait to get home from work and make something. 😁 It led me to take cake decorating classes and I baked/decorated cakes on the side for 15+ years! I’m still glad I did that. Have fun with it!! Keep your old one for big baking days! Make meringue or frosting with one and batters or doughs with the other!!

Ty shud have Alex put in a removable shelf under your stove. That way you’ll have two areas under it to store your stuff and will be easy to keep it straightened out.

I always giggle when you say "I'm trying to get my life together" because I say that EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND. And every holiday break. And every New Year. Pretty much every day, if I'm being honest. Forty-three years old and still trying to figure out my life 🤣

You know what is really good to do to cool down a meal if you have kids. Add some of the frozen peas to the hot food and let them thaw out.

I miss my little children but definitely don't miss the handprints and the mess.......things are where I leave them and the only mess is what i make......its awesome! How I wish I had done so many things differently. I was not as wise as you and Alex when I was raising my only child... But, I was blessed to have my baby boy for 37 years; Not nearly long enough...BUT, BLESSED JUST THE SAME❤ He's been gone 9 years on January 9, 2023. He had type 1 diabetes for 20 years, was on dialysis. His fistula had a blood clot in it so he couldn't get his dialysis. The hospital made him wait to get the clot removed, meanwhile he's swelling up with too much fluid, and gets pneumonia. On January 6, 2014 they removed the clot from his fistula and it went straight to his brain causing a major stroke. I never heard my sweet son's voice again.💔 Please, Take the time to record loved ones' voices, save something they drew, save something with their handwriting and or printing on it. THANK GOODNESS I HAVE.💝💝💝💝

Kin I'm 71 year old grandma raised 3 girls took care of 2 of my grandkids for 5 years, so I know a lot about laundry. LOL I feel your pain every time you go to your laundry room, but just want to say you are lucky. My laundry room is in my garage which is not attached to my house. So many times I've washed during the rain and cold. I've aged and gotten sick so my love hubby does help a lot with washing blankets and things. I wrote all that LOL just to say if I lived next door I'd be happy to come over every day and do your laundry. May your 2023 bring Joy, Happiness, Love and many more |Blessings. I just love you , if I'd met you in my younger days we would of been best of friends. |God Bless. Wolfgang is growing like a weed. Time flies and they grow so fast. my oldest grandson is 26.

OMG, the color of your new Kitchenaid 😍 💕 I like that the silver bowl that comes with it now has a handle. Mine is only a little over a year old and it didn't have a handle on the bowl. Also, OMG is Wolfgang adorable!!! 😍❤️

Old Navy has tags in the clothing where it should have the item number listed. It will also say what season and year it was like this "Fa 22". You can use the item number to see if they still carry it

Oh my Gosh....Wolfgang is so adorable and all of those coo's just melt my heart. My lil man is 3 his name is Trucker and the terrible 2's turned into the terrible 3's I swear he loves to throw everything... lol ...I miss the cooing days...I will miss him being little but I cant see myself missing those tantrums lol

Ok I intended to save this video for a time when I felt better but it started, and you had me at hello. lol Thank you so much! I hurt my hip several weeks ago and can barely walk but you inspired me to get up and do all I could do. I'm looking around and my room looks amazing. You are so much fun, and I get so much done when I watch your videos. Thanks again. Love your family. Especially Wolfgang. He is adorable!!
