Here we are, three generations, virtually, at the Lakshminarayana Global Music Festival. The friendship between our two families goes back two generations, when my father- composer, arranger, and musician RK Sekar and Prof Lakshminarayan, used to live in the same street in Mylapore, Chennai.
In celebrating and honoring the violin virtuoso and Maestro Dr. L Subramaniam’s father, Prof Lakshminaraya, our families came together to perform a song I grew up with, ‘Don’t Leave Me’, composed by Dr. LS.
Joining Dr. Subramaniam and me, in performing my favorite track are my children Khatija Rahman, Raheema Rahman, AR Ameen, and L Subramaniam’s daughter Bindu Subramaniam and granddaughter Mahati Subramaniam along with my dear friend and percussionist, Sivamani.
Thank you to Harman and JBL for their support on this project.

I was floating in an indescribable bliss. Losing the tension in my veins, I flew away like a feather. These geniuses of three generations have gradually dissolved my eyes and ears into a Transeendental meditative spirit. After 15.36 minutes, they brought me back to my senses. When I opened my eyes, my beloved Musician was sitting in front of the piano, dressed in Black suit, wore a. Black glass and smiling. Sir A.R, wish I could see you one day!
