Xiamen! Is my hometown and I really love everything about it. Honestly it's not a city for traveling but it is a city for living. Spend more time with local shops and restaurant. It's a very chilled city. Relax yourself and have a nice stay!

If you feel ill, you could go to see doctor in China anytime, the doctor there is very helpful, nice, and high efficient, and the price is really cheap even you don’t have insurance, hope you guys stay healthy and happy❤❤

Yunnan is the most leisure and most diverse destination in China, Dali and Lijiang are two hottest tourist destination in China, you can stay in Yunnan for a couple years and still not getting bored.

The main attraction of Xiamen City is Gulangyi Island. Get to the International Cruise Center by metro train or taxi in the early morning. Board the ferry for this 0.77 sq miles island. Christianity, nougat, piano.and western musical instruments came to this island in the early 1900s. The island is dotted with well maintained Meditteranean style villas, churches, parks and beaches. Visit the first Chinese Christian cemetery, the piano museum and organ museum.

Xiamen City is a beautiful place. More to explore, esp. Gulangyu Island. FYI, there are D trains (250~300km/h) and G trains (300~380km/h). So G trains are much faster.

Also, consider a trip out to see the TuLou. Tulou, also known as "earthen buildings," are traditional communal residences built by the Hakka and Minnan people of southern China. These unique circular or square structures are made of earth, wood, and other local materials, and they served as fortified villages to house multiple families. The tulou are within a few hours' drive from the city. Some of the most famous tulou clusters include: Tianluokeng Tulou Cluster (田螺坑土楼群): Located in Yongding County, about 3-4 hours by car from Xiamen, Tianluokeng is known for its unique "four dishes and one soup" layout, featuring a square tulou at the center surrounded by four round tulou buildings. Nanxi Tulou Cluster (南溪土楼群): Also in Yongding County, the Nanxi Tulou Cluster is characterized by its scenic surroundings, with tulou nestled among green hills and flowing rivers. It takes around 3-4 hours to reach Nanxi from Xiamen. Chuxi Tulou Cluster (初溪土楼群): Another notable tulou cluster in Yongding County, Chuxi is known for its well-preserved tulou buildings and tranquil rural atmosphere. It's also about 3-4 hours away from Xiamen. These tulou clusters offer a fascinating glimpse into traditional Hakka architecture and culture, making them popular destinations for tourists interested in history, architecture, and rural life in southern China. Visitors to Xiamen can arrange day trips or overnight stays to explore these unique UNESCO World Heritage sites. TuLou are featured in the awesome animated movie : "Big Fish and Begonia", which everyone must see !

let me tell you the next destination : Yellow Mount (Huangshan) in Anhui , Gui lin, Li river , Three Gorges , the biggest city with population of 32 million in Chongqing, u can see the trains pass through high building in the city.

In Xiamen, u can go to Gulangyu island where there is no any car in the island. except fire brigade car

Xiamen(in Mandarin) used to be spelt Amoy(in the Zhangzhou variant of the local dialect of Minnan, just as Guangzhou(Mandarin) used to be referred to as Canton(hence Cantonese). Many people from Xiamen and the other neighboring regions of Quanzhou and Zhangzhou etc in Fujian (in Mandarin) Province migrated to Southeast Asia over the last few hundred years. So majority of the Chinese diaspora in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and (overwhelmingly) in the Philippines are from those regions of Fujian (which is Hokkian or Hokkien in the local Minnan dialect). So these Fujianese often refer to themselves as Hokkien Chinese. The word "tea" comes from the Hokkien(we call it "teh"). The terms "kowtow" is also in Hokkien just as, possibly "Japan" from the Hokkien rendition of the Chinese term for Japan (which is "Jit Poon" in Hokkien). I thought this background info would be of interest to some people here.

I strongly recommend you go to Chengdu, the hometown of pandas. There's a panda breeding base around the city that's perfect for kids.

When you take trains in China, be aware that the ones starting with “G” is the fastest, generally faster than 300 km per hour. D” is a bit slower, around 250 km per hour, “T” is next, about 120-160 km/h. “K” only about 80- 120 km/h. Don’t take the slow train if you’re in a hurry. It travels on average 60 km/h and makes frequent stops

I from Xiamen, know it is too late to give tips at this moment they might been left. Anyway, the trial they was on is “mountain to sea trial” total 15 K and cross most beautiful mountain and valley and all the way to the beach, every half mile has a park/rest station where you can get rest and enjoy the coffee bar there. They have free drinks or water every station. the this trial is one of the most beautiful constructed in China, I invite everyone to visit this trial you will absolutely love it.

Stuffs in any railway station shop are much more expensive compared to those in regular shops.

Xiamen is the gateway to my grandfather's home and was my first destination to China 30 years ago. Along with my parents, grandma and aunt, we visited the village where my grandpa was born. We met his first wife and their families and the experience is unforgettably pleasant.

Great! the beautiful city Amoy, I've been there once. Gulangyu Island, as other people already mentioned in comments, and although it's a very touristy place, I still strongly recommend visiting. It's called the Piano Island of China, since it has the highest number of pianos per capita in China. And I remember there's also a museum of piano there, which I haven't visited.
