This is a basic overview of the Arrma Granite. This is a very good if not one of the best options for beginners.

I didn't realize there were larger pins and different chassis as well. I thought the mega and blx were the same there. Wow that's two more things. I also found the parts below as different. That's not including the electronics. You're totally right, the mega makes little sense in that case. I think upgrading all of that would put me at $380-$390 all said and done. Thinking I might hold out until they update their 3s line anyway. It must be coming soon given all the 4s updates. Once they upgrade the electronics, it will be hard to beat. It really is hard to beat the quality for the price. Keep me posted on any release information of the 4s upgrade if I miss it.

@@telecomandorc will do for sure! As we speak the granite blx just went on sale, so maybe an updated version is coming sooner than later. Arrma really does need to update their 3s models and ditch that drivetrain/slipper clutch. I think that's one major reason the MT10 is still on too. Just a better design. Arrma is behind. 🤙

Follow up question on this the Granite Mega. Have you upgraded to brushless? I noticed there are some differences in parts between the mega v3 and the 3s blx version. There gearing/slipper/motor mount is different, tie rods and turnbuckles, etc. Have you noticed that upgrading these parts is a must? Thanks!

Not really. The slipper is a different one but I generally tighten it all the way for bashing. So, it does not make a difference. The turnbuckles don't make a difference unless racing for tuning. The advantage is the larger pins and chassis for heavy bashing, but I do not do big jumps. To be honest, it is less than $100 for the upgraded model. I would just get the upgraded model and call it a day regardless since I do like tuning. It is not necessary but sometimes the small tuning options are nice. I just contradicted myself a bit... but tuning is not much but it is nice to have. Pug and play... Mega... fun tuning... blx.
